I like the concept, but there are functionalities that make it difficult to adopt entirely. Here is a short list:
- Annual recurring tasks - Ordering spaces to my liking - Excluding Rock Team space from seeing - Saving custom views - Saving filters used - Automatic task assignment - Copy-pasting list of tasks to automatically create individual tasks (or subtasks)
This means I have to look at my work the way Rock is enforcing. I also end up missing things if I forget to assign them to myself.
I also cannot conveniently export my data. Though I'm past my refund date, I decided to leave the platform because it's become a chore to manage tasks.
Submitting this review in case this deal comes back, for other sumolings. This is a very good tool, really polished. The chat system is good. Nothing really surprising, it works as expected. The fact that you can easily attach files from anywhere is good. It's very convenient for teams. I largely prefer it over Slack. But what I like the most is the task system. It's not perfect but it"s better than many task management tools. In conjunction with the chat, it's very convenient. You also have your own space where you are the only member and can use for your own tasks. So you have everything together, tasks for business and tasks for personal life. Great tool.
I purchased this lifetime deal and got around to activating it a little more than a month later. The AppSumo instructions are pretty clear on how to redeem the code -- you simply create an account, login, click settings, and then click the "Upgrade with promo code" option where you can apply the code.
Easy as pie, right? Nope, more like as hard as a rock to the head. I go through the elaborate sign up sequence and eventually get to log into the system, but when I go to settings the upgrade option isn't there. So I see a plan section, most service would label this as billing, and it my current free tier plan... but still no upgrade option. I turn over every pebble to find out where to redeem my AppSumo code and the upgrade option is no where in sight. It's almost as if the service wasn't expecting anyone to apply the code after a month so they took it out or, the cynic in me is thinking that, they were hoping to catch last minute AppSumo redeemers off guard. So what next? I do as the AppSumo redemption page instructs and send an email to Rock support. The result was radio silence. So based on my experience with Rock's poor support for AppSumo members and unresponsive customer service I decided to skip this rock into into a lake and move on to requesting a refund.
Have gotten 2 codes already. Still exploring the platform and haven't got to use it to its full potential but so far the experience has been positive. Everything you need for project management and team communication is there. Tools and UI are simple to understand too. Nothing that complicates you from doing real work. Excited to see how the product will develop further to improve work task experiences. Rock's support is great too, it's one of the reason why I choose to use it. :)
I have been trying this out with my team and I have to say the all love it Its user-friendly, and easy to collaborate. Support has been great, Rock Team thanks for all the quick responses.
I have been trying this out with my assistant and I have to say I really like this so far. I've come to accept that many chat applications have issues with copy/pasting of media/links from device to device OS to OS desktop to mobile. This is the only one where the mobile app can open media and links and it opens correctly every time in the web client. It is very responsive and just works. The task assignment features are very easy to use and intuitive. The notes work well (I won't use much probably). Easily a 5 taco if it had desktop clients. I could see this being very popular for private use also. B+
As a freelancer (creative projects) I find myself using various tools for varying purposes. I have been using the free version of Rock for a couple of months to manage my development projects, usually before I bring on a larger team. I purchased this upgrade with the hopes that the "Advanced Pro Features" coming soon make it worth it. I like having the notes and tasks in the spaces created. I do less jumping from app to app. Wish list includes the following: 1) being able to arrange the spaces in the menu, 2) being able to customize the profile image for the spaces - I can do it for my main space but not for the added ones (maybe I am missing something), 3) tags for the notes, 4) screen sharing, and 5) desktop app (one thing I really like about the Slack experience).

Thanks for the support samantha78! You can use space folders to group different spaces together, you can also change the profile image for each space by going into space settings and we have Jitsi integrated into Rock which allows you to set quickly share your screen so hopefully these tips will make your Rock experience even better.
As part of the lifetime deal on AppSumo we're offering free consultation sessions on how to make Rock work even better for you. Someone from our team will reach out to see if you'd be interested in setting up time.
