Awesome service to save time on email
I was a bit skeptical about SaneBox at first. Seemed a little pricey for a service that sits on top of your existing email, but that’s actually part of what makes it so great and useful.
Regardless of what Mail client you use or switch to, SaneBox works flawlessly. If you often switch apps or for example use Gmail on desktop but then iOS Mail on mobile for example. SaneBox will work on both without issues.
As noted in another review some of what SaneBox does (but I don’t believe all) could be done with Gmail filters. Gmail filters are insanely powerful the problem is, every time you get a new email from a new sender you are not going to setup some advanced rule to filter them it’s just not worth it. Especially on mobile where it’s not really possible.
SaneBox makes it incredibly easily to triage your emails and setup future rules for them on the fly. SaneLater perfectly takes out all the emails I’d class as notifications, updates, replies to support tickets into a folder (way better than Inbox by Gmail did), dealing with these is a different process to emails that need replies so from a productivity perspective it makes sense to keep these separate and deal with them at the same time.
I don’t use a huge amount of the other features (SaneLater is the main feature), but I am surprised how useful I’m finding SaneBlackBox. This sends a sender permanently to this folder. You can effectively silence annoying people and put them in one folder. Gmail has some features to achieve this but none as elegant and easy as SaneBox.
Overall I’d highly recommend. The beauty of this is it follows you everywhere you use email and helps save you time.
Future requests:
- I’d love it if you could filter out emails that say “thanks for creating a support ticket”. These drive me insane!
P.S SaneBox I believe already filters out vacation replies, if you ask it to. 🎉
