Almost like Camtasia
I've been looking for a less expensive Camtasia for a while.
I think I've found it with ScreenToVideo.
Being a user of Premiere Pro, the editing timeline does not seem as polished. But I can overlook that when I see that the cursor, webcam, mouse clicks, are all editable. And you have many of the animations that makes a great training/how-to video.
Also the fact that it saves all the files within the project in the same file is a blessing as well as a curse. The blessing is that you can just record and send one file for an editor to take care of.... very easy. The only con is that the file can get quite large in size, depending on the recording size of the screen and webcam.
For the creation of how-to/onscreen training videos, it is a great piece of software.

May 9, 2024Hey!
We really appreciate your kind words and suggestions. One of our aims is to keep the app as simple as possible while adding all the tools our users need. If you have any idea on how to improve the timeline, please contact us at support@screentovideo.com. Any brief description would be extremely helpful.
Regarding the project size, there is a tradeoff: we either create a large file or multiple small ones. In both cases, the user would need to send all the data which is proportional to the contained videos. Hence, we decided to simply compress everything into a single project file.
Many thanks,
Alex
