My name is Filippo and I’m the co-founder of Splitstack, together with my buddy Stefano.

Thrilled to introduce Splitstack to the community!

We’ve built Splitstack, a tool that aims to make server-side split testing easy, first of all to solve our own pain point.

We run a performance marketing agency and strongly believe that the most effective way to run landing-pages experiments is by implementing them on the server and not in the client (like many tools out there do).

Why?

Because with server-side test you can:

✅ Test the full-stack, which means tests that have a real impact on your bottom-line (for example completely different designs or checkout flows), not just fancy button colors or minor changes.

✅ Don’t bother your users with poor UX. Client-side tools either expose your visitors to the “flicker effect” (if you use asynchronous JavaScript) or the page load becomes too long (if you use synchronous JavaScript). That’s particularly true on mobile devices, which are more sensitive to slower websites.

Many of the server-side solutions we’ve tried:

🔴 Are way too expensive.

🔴 They require you to know your stuff around coding in the server. This slows down the testing cycle, because marketers need to get their IT department involved.

🔴 Are often over-featured, so you end up using just a fraction of what you’ve paid for.

That’s why we felt there was a space in the market for a simpler solution.

The goal is to give everyone the ability to implement server-side tests on their landing pages in a few clicks, without any coding knowledge.

How does it work?

We use a proxy-server methodology that makes everything simple:

✅ You enter the URLs you want to test out (the control and the variations).

✅ You decide how we should split the traffic between your URLs.

✅ You place the pixel code where the conversion event happens (you can use GTM or any other tag management solution you prefer).

And you’re good to go!

You will be able to track conversions and other metrics directly within your dashboard in real time, see if your test has reached statistical significance, stop or pause them whenever you want.

We've really try to focus on the user experience, with the goal to be up and running in a few minutes from signing-up.

We also decided to keep Splitstack cookie-free, we use an anonymized fingerprint solution to track the user’s journey, so there’s no need to implement any kind of policy!
