I personally would use this for quickly aggregating educational content for my team. Imagine spending 100s of hours watching tons of videos online but you still need to disseminate the information to others. This would allow you to quickly download all needed content. Then you can chop up, edit, and send the new video to your team. At least, those are my intentions.

For me, I don't plan on it to be used for commercial purposes but very useful if all your education is online in video form.

Personally, I download videos all the time for easier access to viewing, but more so because often videos are removed for whatever reason then we can no longer access them. (THAT happened to me too many times.) Another reason that I think someone else here mentioned is to have the ability to curate a collection of videos on a certain topic and store them all in one place (whether that be your desktop, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.), to share with friends, family, colleagues, teams, or students you're coaching/teaching.

I download videos because they tend to disappear for more controversial politics and such. Youtube loves to censor free speech. I also download videos with great educational content. There are some Ted Talks and stuff that are so good, I would be devastated if they ever disappeared. I also download videos for research. I have folders organized with materials for learning from.
