A.1) Yes, you can connect a different sheet for each catalog, the sheets can be from different spreadsheets, even from different google accounts. A.2) Depends on the data source, google sheets does not expose the images url and I don't host the images from google sheet for the LTD, for example Airtable exposes the images URL and I can automatically use them and...
Thanks for your question, You can create multiple custom filters on the UI based on any column. You can also add custom filter plugins using javascript. The catalogs are very flexible, I am pretty sure that you will be able to fulfill you filter requirement
