Q: Hi team I have 2 questions: 1.

I do all my meetings on an iPad and I frequently run across the problem that video conferencing tools can only record meetings if I’m hosting on a desktop computer. Does MeetGeek work on an iPad or other mobile devices?

2. If my client is hosting a meeting and I use MeetGeek to record the meeting, will it still notify participants that the call is being recorded? Or does that only occur if I’m the meeting host? (I want to make sure I’m covering my legal bases…)

A: Hi @k.m.wade.writer! Thanks for your questions. Let me go over them.

1 - We generally recommend using the desktop version, as the mobile version has some feature limitations. However, you can still view the meeting transcription, video and audio on mobile devices if you prefer to. It's a very handy feature for situations when you want to catch up with lost meetings and can't access your computer.

2 - To clarify, you can only use Meetgeek if you're the host. You won't be able to set it up otherwise. In your use case, you'd have to ask your client to use Meetgeek instead and share the recording afterwards.

Hopefully this information helps!

Thanks again for your response. Could you please point me in the direction of a comparison between the desktop and mobile features?

I’ll never use MeetGeek on a desktop, so I’d like to understand what I’d be getting when only using it on an iPad.

Hello,

There is no difference if you run a Zoom meeting from your destop or mobile devices. The analysis will be performed by Meetgeek regardless of which device you are using.

However, when checking the output in the web dashboard:

Desktop & IPAD have similar views
On phones, parts of the menu are hidden in order to make the experience better. You still can access the basics, such as the transcript, video or highlights.

Hope this clarifies.
