Updated Review
I originally gave a 1 star review because the transcription quality was poor and many of the Google Meet integration features weren't working.
Support was very slow to respond (because they had lots of queries at the end of the AppSumo deal period). But when they did respond they were very helpful.
Viewing videos is now much faster and audio works on iPad. Transcription is working better now that I'm using the US setting (I'm Australian and was using the Au setting but it wasn't working properly).
Having it auto-caption videos is also helpful.
I'd still like to see the transcription improved — it's not as good as Otter or Google — but it's getting there. The automatic detection of tasks and other key parts of a transcription is a cool feature to have but it's not working very accurately at the moment. I'll be keen to see this improve over the coming months.
The agenda feature doesn't seem to be useful at all. I'd like to see that developed. E.g. If we have 'tasks' and 'decisions' in the agenda, it would be awesome if the automatic detection feature could detect those things and produce minutes that group those tags according to the agenda. Or if the agenda could be made available during a meeting, that would be helpful.
It really would be much more useful if we could record meetings when we're not the host (recording and uploading recordings is all well and good provided you can record the audio and screen — which isn't always possible (see note below)).
Overall I think the product has potential. It probably isn't at the 4 star rating yet but I think it will be one day. And I felt guilty giving a lower star rating when the team has worked so hard to fix the bugs I reported.
All in all, this product has promise. And if you use it for nothing more than recording meeting audio and video, it's useful. (E.g. You can record a screen on an iPad natively, but it only records the audio if you're not using headphones. MeetGeek overcomes that problem).
