Testing Meetn
I used meetn a few times in one on one sessions for a few minutes to check it out and I got a good impression of it.
But all Linux users got messages that "this version of Firefox has a bug which prevents it from accessing your microphone and camera." Very anoying, especially as we currently have a subscription on whereby, which just works fine with Firefox.
So one of the users had to install a different browser, before we could start the meeting :-(
Than the level of the sound is not very good.
Users have to change the level of their microphone higher than they normally use it, and I still had to set the level of my speakers to 150% to get the sound on an acceptable level.
Yesterday I had my first business meeting over meetn.
After exactly 20 minutes the connection of the organiser dropped.
It took about a minute to login again, in which time I checked the internet connection and that was still ok. It looked more like a problem with meetn.com.
Before the meeting I had sent the link over Telegram and the group session was still open. Within a minute the other users where kicked out also and it took some of them too long to reconnect, so we changed back to use whereby.com again.
To elaborate on this problem, the following. The organiser uses a 1000/1000 Mbps glass connection and until now Whereby.com and zoom are used almost daily and never have this problem.
The other parties where IT professionals and also located in The Netherlands on good stable internet connections.
Plus while the meetn session dropped, we kept using Telegram without any delays or other problems.
I will test meetn again, but at the moment I don't dare to use it in a commercial meeting.

Apr 23, 2025Thanks for the review Leo. Let's go through the list
1) Firefox issues: We suspect the firefox issue is fixed from their side, but we left the warning message up in an abundance of caution. I'll check with the team and see if it's time to remove it.
2) Sound level too low -- We are aware of this and are working on it
3) Dropped connections -- We had a "distributed denial of service" attack on our infrastructure. We optimized our defenses and appear to be a-ok again. So the dropped connections were not a reflection of our stability overall... just really bad timing.
Hope that helps!
