Q: Hi, what is the difference between Melon and Streamlabs in terms of features?

May 14, 2024A: Hello and thank you for your interest in Melon & Streamlabs products!
Both Melon and Streamlabs Desktop are tools that let you go live and record. Streamlabs is a Desktop solution, Melon - browser based one.
Streamlabs is more powerful and lets you create multiple scenes and add more sources/widgets etc etc. You can resize them on screen and set different layouts for separate scenes. There’s more options for customizations and streaming output bitrate options etc etc. It’s definitely a preferable solution for gaming experience.
Melon has some integrations with Streamlabs Widgets like Chat widget, Donation goal and Alerts + Cloudbot (that keeps your chat clean for you) but you can’t resize camera feeds for example and set different layouts for different scenes. Melon is simpler solution yet powerful enough if you host interviews, talk shows, master classes etc. You can have up to 12 participants on screen (it’s currently 5 participant limitation on Streamlabs Desktop) and multi-stream to unlimited channel amount (for example multiple Youtube locations, up to 10 Facebook destinations etc) along with scheduling feature and local recording available which is currently not supported on Desktop.
So depending on your goals and features that are important for you we can recommend you either Melon or Streamlabs Desktop.
