I know, everyone's first reaction is "why are you streaming on a chromebook?"

Simple answer is that I never anticipated becoming a streamer! But thanks to TikTok it's become a necessity for me

So I was super-excited to use Melonapp and, apart from a couple of teething issues (which aren't Melon's fault) I've had no major hiccups

One feature that was fantastic was the disconnect protection - I had wifi issues yesterday so unplugged my extender, ran back into the house (I'm in the garage) and plugged it in - Meanwhile, all that happened from the viewer end was that my video and audio dropped out, but the stream stayed connected!!!

I can't stress how awesome that was to not lose everyone on the stream!

Here are the issues I noticed and what caused them:

Stream buffering and audio issues: Everything came down to my Sony Wireless earphones. Once I disconnected from my phone and plugged them in using a 3.5, this issue was fixed - Everyone suddenly cheered that the quality improved!

More lag issues: Not my internet, but I forgot how much of a resource-hogger Chrome is. So if you're using Chrome, disable all the extensions you aren't using. You'd be surprised how much RAM they take up!!!

Also, take a week to stream at peak times to test speed. I streamed a busy Sunday evening last night and had these issues. But I only have a small following so it wasn't too bad.

Things I'd like to see:

Clickable banners with hyperlinks (Is that a thing I dunno?)

More widget integrations - I can't afford the premium features of Streamlabs right now so it's kinda pointless

Ability to play a "back soon" video - A friend of mine did this when they went for a toilet break and it was great to keep people on stream!

All in all I'm super-impressed and trying to recommend it to people before the deal expires!
