Q: Hi team, Welcome to AppSumo.

So it seems like the real meat and potatoes of Minerva and likely highly contributory to your seed funding last year was the machine learning aspect of the product - namely the Minerva AI-Powered Guide Creation (Add-on, not included in the deal) and the AI-Generated Knowledge Base (also an Add-on, not included).

This is not a question asking you to alter your deal structure or anything like that. Your reasons for not offering these add-ons as part of the deal are well explained by the team in the responses to other questions.

What I would like to know though, is why all the cloak and dagger around the pricing of these add-ons? Why are you asking people to reach out to you directly, take the conversation away from the public forum and engage with you "1:1".

Is it possible to have some transparency, please? It kind of feels like you have put a product aimed at enterprise on a marketplace aimed at solopreneurs and SME/SMB, and then when folks are questioning you on the pricing of add-ons you're holding your cards close to your chest because you don't want to alienate people here. Surely you must have anticipated these sorts of questions would arise?

The deal overall is pretty confusing. I have watched the video, read the copy, checked out your website, and I am still none the wiser as to which 'smarts' of Minerva this deal actually includes, and what we would have to pay to get the additional 'smarts'.

To be clear - the platform looks solid, and I really like that this can be embedded directly into an existing web application - there's definitely a lot to like here. This all being said though, I think a little clarity on what is actually included, and what we need to pay to unlock the full oomph of Minerva is needed.

Thanks,
J

A: Hi, J,

I'm very sorry for the confusion. You are correct, the intelligence of Minerva is more of an enterprise-level product with enterprise pricing. You can head to our pricing page to see the cost for that product ($2,000 per month to start).

What I'm hoping when people connect with us is to learn a few things:
1. Do you have enough traffic that you would get value out of the AI? It actually needs a bit of data to do it's thing. It's possible a lot of folks here wouldn't end up getting much out of it at all.
2. If you do get enough traffic, how much exactly? If there is A LOT of traffic, it would be hard for us to price the AI below the minimum threshold for our enterprise clients. If there is a fair amount and you are okay with us running the query say, once per month, we should be able to figure something out to fit your needs, but we do have to make sure we're covering our costs for the data collection, transfer, storage, and processing for the AI.

Again, we don't expect many (if any!) folks here to have so much data that we would have to charge our normal rates. But we can't just give a blanket statement until we know exactly how much data and support we're talking about.

I hope that clarifies things a bit! I know it might not be a satisfying answer, but it's the best and most honest one I have!

Best,
Joaquin
