I found that you can use ur extension url and create a custom sidebar app with tabextend. sidekick-extension://finifn4if4nif4nfin... So at least its just a click away at any time.

the Shortkeys (Custom Keyboard Shortcuts) extension is our friend as it seems!

Oh no! I am very dependent on tabExtend! I was considering purchasing for my business, but without the ability to use normal extensions that I need for my business, that is a huge issue.

I know, it might be disappointing, but TabExtend has maybe only half (or less) of the features that Sidekick has. As I mentioned before, we have sessions, folders and many more. Hence, we are not planning to be compatible with such types of extensions.

Was just about to purchase, but this is a dealbreaker for me to. All my bookmarks live in Tabextend. I dont really understand why the basically useless new tab default screen cant be replaced by a really usefull app - be it tabextend or any other…

Follow up with the half the feature argument; how would I do a session that contains groups, which again contains subgroups which contain bookmark stacks within the subgroups? Thats just one of the organization features of Tabextend for all my lifetime deals for example. Some of them are in icon view, some are as individual links, some have notes attached.

The current new tab view (besides the search bar) is wasting 95% of my screen real estate, to let me know how many ads have been blocked, and showing me the apps that are already in the sidebar. Why? At least for pro users, you should consider an option to replace the new tab view with extensions that allow to use that. If its only for a new 500px image each time i open a new tab or something really business related, than tab extend.

Then you should at least figure out & provide a migration tool for those that do use them.

I appreciate you are trying to sell your product with this response, yet I think that it might be helpful to state that it rather misses the point. People simply don't want to pick one product over the other. Given Sidekick and TabExtend are rather different offerings, they wish to integrate both, to maximum effect, with minimal effect on their existing workflow. The number of growing comments on this point suggest that this may be something the team at Sidekick would gain value from investigating further, rather than dismissing out of hand. Isn't that one of the reason companies launch on AppSumo, namely to investigate new things, about what their customer base is interested in?

@D2019 @ support5123 I also bought the TabExtend AppSumo deal—it's got a beautiful UI but in my opinion Sidekick is probably a LOT better, like 100x better.

The biggest problem with TabExtend (at least when I was using it) is that you can't move things up to a higher leve in the hierarchy. Even though the folder metaphor is boring and folders of bookmarks are not as sexy as TabExtend, a folder can be moved up and down to higher or lower levels of your hierarchy. This is the reason I abandoned TabExtend and I don't think it's worth locking yourself into it. I definitely regret paying money for an ultimately poorly-designed extension.

At the same time, I think Sidekick would do well to support it, since:
- it would allow people with TabExtend to move their bookmarks into SideKick
- it would allow sharing with people who don't use Sidekick
- if one extension doesn't work in Sidekick, this is an indicator that probably lots of others don't either, and why would we want to switch to a browser that can't use all our favorite extentions?

Hi there! Thank you for your comment.

You are absolutely right, we will consider the feature that will allow users to migrate their data from TabExtentend to Sidekick Browser properly.
Sharing is a good feature and if you discovered collections - (below the gear in the sidebar), you can see see that we already could share our bookmarks as collections.

Your point about not working extensions is valid.
However, we have been building an all-in-one solution for productivity for a long time and we have a lot of functions related to our core. So, we are not planning to be compatible with some new appearing extensions that are doubling our functions. Except for the New Tab Page extensions, we are working on some improvements here.

Hey guys. We see that there are a lot of requests to allow to use of TabExtend. We will have a huge tech conflict between the extensions. However, we will try to help you to migrate from the TabExtend to Sidekick Browser seamlessly. That's all that I can promise you guys.
