Mixed Feelings
I have mixed feelings about this course and about my decision to get a refund. On the one hand, it is seems to be comprehensive and it really got "under my skin".... On the other hand, I found myself rolling my eyes quite a bit and wondering if what I was doing was particularly useful.
I did not really get very far in the course. I was enrolled for almost 60 days and got through about a section and a half and then asked for the refund just as I was nearing the 60 day mark after going back and forth, both in my head and via emails with Noah and Daniel, before deciding to pull the plug. What I valued most were the notions of "validating ideas" and sourcing out new ways of making money *before* investing in them.
What I didn't particularly connect with was the tone of the course. It's kinda cutesy. And maybe I was / am feeling defensive but I also found it a bit patronizing. Rather than welcome open questions, there was a lot of "stick with the program" regimentation. A lot of people clearly really enjoy(ed) this course and find / found it very beneficial. It was not my cup of tacos. I'd give it a 2.5 on the Taco Scale, but I'll round up because it really does offer one-on-one interactivity and for many that's invaluable. Before signing up for this course, I'd suggest giving Noah's $10 lecture on sales a try. It's chock full of great ideas and was, to me, far more "information dense" and informative than I found my stint with the course to be.
I must admit, I feel some pain at withdrawing from the course, but I know intuitively it's really not for me. I am going to take the advice of the Sumo-ling below and check out Purple Cow by Seth Godin + Made to Stick by Chip & Dan Heath + E-Myth + The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes. I know I still have a lot to learn on a myriad of related subjects.
