Promising, but Way Too Credit-Hungry
Mootion has a lot of potential, but right now it’s a very mixed experience. My very first 60-second short turned out great – an easy 5 tacos – but after that things went downhill.
You can’t see or control the final video length during editing, so you have no idea if you’re ending up with 50 sec or 3 minutes. Or the option to choose the length yourself, for example 5 minutes. You also can’t preview the voiceover before finalizing, and once you hit *Next*, the project is locked – no going back to fix a scene or change the narration. That’s a big minus.
The credit system is the biggest problem. Even on Tier 3, you burn through credits far too fast, especially since “high quality” animations cost double but don’t really justify the extra cost. You can regenerate videos, but it just eats more credits.
For short videos, Mootion is acceptable and shows real promise, but for longer videos it’s frustrating. If they improved editing flexibility and gave AppSumo users (LTD's) a much more generous credit allowance, this could be a fantastic tool...
