It has potential
NextDoc does great designs and is good at responding to directions. I have only used it to develop 2 long documents, which consumed all my credits. The issue is that it can undo past edits when doing new ones. And simple things like updating page numbers can take over 20 minutes (it will do it in batches of 4 or 5 pages). Plus, when it makes a mistake (and it will admit it missed content etc), but will still charge you credits for its mistakes.
It took me almost 4 days full time for these 2 documents. I would have appreciated it being quicker. The end product is great though. So you need a lot of patience, and an acceptance your credits will vanish if your documents are longer than 30 pages. I havent tried any other type of document, as this is what I needed to get done as a priority for a client. I wont be refunding, but I also will be investigating my Canva subscription more closely to see if it can do the same thing, and if it is more intuitive about the basics like margins and page numbers.

Generation stalled out and broke. Support stopped replying.
I wasn't able to fully test this out as my presentation generation stalled out and stopped working. Reached out to support and got an initial response, but then never got replies to my response to that, nor a follow up email I sent after that. I'm ok with a few shortcomings in an app, but lack of support is a dealbreaker for me.

Jun 16, 2026Hi Justin,
I’m really sorry about this. You’re right to expect a follow-up, especially when a generation stalls and you’re trying to properly evaluate the product.
We’re a very small team and the AppSumo launch created a much larger support surge than expected, but that’s still on us. I’ll personally follow up on your ticket and make sure we respond properly.
It also looks like we found an...

Not bad quality at all, but credit usage is way out of wack
I tried out NextDocs. It is not bad per se, not one bit.
There is so much to like about it, but making a simple presentation PDF cost around 1600 credits out of my 4000 monthly allotment on the Tier 3 plan.
So, despite the quality outputs and sleek interface, it is no good for scale or enterprise.
I can do this using other solutions for 1% of the credit consumption cost, so I had to bail out on NextDocs. Tons of potential here though but it just isn't economically efficient enough.

Jun 16, 2026Hi,
Thanks for the honest feedback, and I’m glad to hear you liked the output quality and interface.
One important note: NextDocs gives you control over the generation mode. We have Fast, Quality, and Premium modes, and credit usage varies a lot between them. For many everyday presentations, Fast mode is much more efficient while still producing strong results. You can also choose between...

its a Good alternative.
Well, I have used this tool. It's good, but not that much because I think the product is still new. With the passage of time, if they add new features, it might become a cross-competitor of Gamma. I am recently using it, but still, I will keep it because there is a lot of potential, and they can do wonders

Jun 15, 2026Thanks so much for the thoughtful review and for giving NextDocs a chance.
You’re right that we are still early, and we’re actively improving the product based on feedback from users like you. If you’re open to it, we’d really appreciate any specific feedback on what felt missing, what was not as polished as expected, or which features would make NextDocs more useful for your workflow.
That kind...

Impressive
The site is intuitive and easy to navigate, but need to improve its onboarding process during the first slide creation (may need to prompt user on adding asset or brand). When creating a slide, it would be good if users are allowed to upload a file (image/text outline/existing slide) as a start instead of just creating a 'blank' presentation.
Secondly, the output is above average compared to other slide generators (excluding Gamma). However, I rate Nextdocs chat/editor as better than Gamma, Beautiful AI and other generators. It was able to analyse my 300+ pages document with ease, refined the outline twice and came up with a very satisfying output of 30 slides using top tier AI models, and this consumed 500+ credits which to me is acceptable. There are also a variety of output options and haven't encountered any bugs so far.
If possible Nextdocs can auto-embed presenter notes when exporting to pptx (similar to 'add notes' in MS PowerPoint) and add animation timeline (similar to Canva). Please allow integration with MS Onedrive.
P/S: Please give us free credits for video generations, so that we can test use-cases and may be tempted to upgrade to T3.
Overall, a great product.

Jun 13, 2026Thanks so much for the detailed review and 5 tacos.
Really glad to hear NextDocs handled your 300+ page document well and that the 30-slide output felt worth the credit usage.
A few notes on your feedback:
- File upload is already supported for PDFs, Word docs, PPTX, images, and outlines, but you’re right that the first creation flow should make this much clearer.
- Better onboarding around...
