5 tacos for the deal, 3 tacos for a decent pm tool
The deal is great and nifty, for me, offers the best features of any of the recent pm tools on appsumo.
In my opinion, 5 tacos would mean I would happily purchase a tool on a monthly subscription and be happy with it, but I couldn't say that about nifty. It would not be my choice if paying a monthly fee for it.
Thats because, though it has some nice features, it is lacking those little things here and there that make a pm tool stand out and great to use. The design is ok, it is a bit cluttered and too 'asana like' for my liking, but it is useable.
I have been using nifty with clients for the last couple of weeks now. Tellingly, the majority have said they find nifty confusing and not that easy to use. These are small business owners who do not use pm tools daily, so it interesting to find they struggle.
Lots of little features I have asked about in support (who always come back the same day, which is great) are just not available, all things available in other pm tools (i have used quite a few), from no 'date' custom field, having to add a time to due dates, not being able to reference a document you have in nifty on discussions or tasks, having images show up on the kanban board and taking up alot of space, not being able to customise what shows up on the boards on the kanban view... there are others too.
Nifty is nice. I am using it with clients and it does the job for now, but they would have to keep improving at a good pace for me to stop looking for something else. Personally I think only basecamp really has got the 'client side' of pm tools right so far (the task management side is terrible), nifty (and also activecollab) do a decent stab at it, but basecamp is the only one that treats your clients, like clients. (adding your clients emails to their mailing list automatically is a big no, its not even allowed with gdpr, hopefully they will change that with their worrying breach they had a few days ago).
So, an easy 5 tacos for the deal, well worth the money. 3 tacos though for the pm tool itself, its decent without being great.
