Almost Perfect
Nifty was one of those apps that I tried 5 times until it grew on me. I even liked it so much that I've paid $100 for AppSumo Plus to be able to get it.
Good things first :
Uber awesome idea! To be able to execute and consolidate most of your project in one place is absolutely exciting!
Almost no bugs.
Team chat and a lot of customization features.
Not so good:
The Kanban feels severely underdeveloped. If you have more than 4 rows and have to scroll, there is no way to scroll with the mouse wheel or via click and drag. You have to move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and drag the slider like we used to have to do in the '90s. Someone should definitely update the UX in that department!
The next big flaw in the Kanban view is that you can't just "type" task continually. In most other apps, when you click on "Add a task" you enter the task, click the "Enter" button on the keyboard and you can automatically add a new task, but not in Nifty! In Nifty you must click on the "Add a new task" type the task, then click enter, then move your hand out of the keyboard, grab the mouse, click on the "Add new task" button and repeat again. This is EXCRUSIATINGLY painful to do when you have to add more than 1-2 tasks in quick succession - again, I don't know how the UX department missed that since this is a standard feature in almost any PM app out there!
3rd. - There is no way to copy-paste image directly as a task in the Kanban board. You can paste it as a "description" but when you combine that with the issue above it's becoming a tedious nightmare to quickly put ideas on the board, especially if they are visual (images)
4rd - No way to put files into folders?! and NO WAY to re-use image on the kanban, without duplicating it. (Imagine you want to have the same image on 10 different tasks, well you'll have 10 different copies of that images in the files tab and when you combine this with the lack of folders it's quickly becoming a BIG MESS)
When you think about it - folders for the files are almost essential, since most of us who upload files don't exactly bother to rename the file. And when I download a file from the internet with the name "pretty7sniftys.jps" and directly import it into Nifty is much easier to later access and find that file, if I know it's in the folder "Logo Inspiration Designs" - just think about that.
It may look harsh but Nifty is really a great app with mediocre UX. Everything feels almost polished but in the same time, it's just "not there" yet. Sadly from what I see the team is more focused on more features and integrations than fixing and improving the UX at this time, which frankly is a shame, because, with those in place, NIfty can be absolutely worthy contender of the biggest PM apps in the game, even with the current features.
However, I'm staying with NiftyPm and I hope they'll come back someday and fix those nagging issues. In the meantime, I'll just try to deal with them
