Easier to Use
Here are 😁Pros:
⚫I have used a few project management solutions and Nifty does a great job with the ease of use. It is generally easy to navigate and you know where to find things. I prefer not to need a course on navigation. Normally, I worry about whether I or my users will remember how to use the software I enable.
⚫I love that I can create Portfolios (which is basically a header for a bundle of projects).
⚫I love that I can connect the chat to Zoom. I connected but haven't yet tried it, but that option is genius. I REALLY, REALLY wish that I could enable that for my freelancers so they could connect to Zoom individually and talk with their clients.
⚫I love that I can PROOF docs. Genius. This is like a dream for any online business that makes graphics (which is like ... everyone.)
😒Cons:
⚫The words CREATE NOTE is conflicting because I thought I was creating a note in the calendar, but it took me to a Nifty document. I think it should say CREATE DOC.
⚫I cannot adjust permissions because all of them are locked, but you can create a new user and set the permissions. However, I find that I cannot do all the things I need to do. For instance, I work with freelancers, so freelancers are not teammates, but they are members when you contract with them and I need them to work with and chat with guests. However, I do not want to give guests access to the full chat. It needs to be an individual chat space with the freelancer.
⚫Like the chat, I need permissions for Folders. Right now, i think everyone would have access to everything if I enabled folder access. I want to assign my freelancer to their guest user folder so they can work together. IT IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO FIND PROJECT MGMT SOFTWARE THAT UNDERSTANDS FREELANCING WORKFLOWS. It is always made for employees.
⚫Roadmaps and Tasks are backwards for me compared to other project management solutions I have used. Normally the ROADMAP (which is also called MILESTONES in Nifty) is where you set up your Pipeline. The pipeline holds each stage of the project. However, your Task Headers in Nifty are actually the pipeline. I can rearrange them and set them up according to how I want the project to flow. Each Task Header holds tasks and is collapsible. I cannot set up a ROADMAP because it cannot be moved into the right order as the order will adjust itself into a different order. However, I turned them into phases (yet, they still reorder themselves, which may work for some but not my workflows).
⚫You can add links to your module headers. However, my sublinks won't activate, only main domains. You cannot reorder the module headers.
⚫Other than that, I wish (as the admin) that I could select several tasks to watch instead of just one in the Dashboard.
Overall, I really like Nifty, but I am still deciding on it because I need to set and deny access to folders and have individual chat. Otherwise, it is just another software that doesn't complete my project management needs.
