Pretty great already, with room for significant improvement
As someone with zero, literally zero experience to databases, I got started very easily with their AI feature. There was an example prompt already present in the dialog box. Here;s how my flow worked -> copy the example flow, run it by Claude where the context of my work lies and then get Claude to replicate my needs based on the example flow.
My case had 4 tables with 11 coloumns each and after clicking generate, it kept on generating for about 10 minutes which led me to refresh thinking that it wa stuck. Tried the generating part again and this time it generated tad faster. Now, it gives you the option to generate a secret key and post that it gives you the API documentation. Pretty seamless process and I guess folks who are familiar with DBs may find using the various endpoints easy as well. Well, this is where I am struggling and hence I feel there is significant room for imporvemnt, which I am listeing below:
1) For the AI generate feature, could you enable Natural Language Generation? This would eliminate the Claude step in the middle.
2) Does it take 10-15 minutes to do the actual generate when there are many tables and columns involved? If yes, this could be better reflected in the dialog.
3) Sometimes the APi endpoints generated are blank and I have to click on the ellipses and click 'view documenattion' to regenerate it. Not sure what is happening here but to a novice it is adding complexity.
4) Is there an ability to add a test record directly to a table in the DB without having to use the endpoints?
These are some of my painpoints for now. Having said that, I feel NCB is a generous deal that has the potential to attarct more novices like me into the world of DBs.
I wish you the very best and look forward to seeing more features and more robust documenattion/tutorials. Thanks all around.
