Decent tool with a few bugs and a steep learning curve

Let me start off by saying the NoCode-X is among the best no-code tools that I've used. Although I've just spent a few hours playing around with the tool and watching their YouTube videos, I'm already starting to grasp just how powerful this tool already is. If the developer(s) keep on improving the tool, there's really no limit to what you can achieve with this tool.

With that being said, there are 2 reasons for not giving a 5-taco review:

1) The documentation is limited, but I've found the learning curve of the tool to be quite steep (at least for a non-technical person like myself). Their knowledgebase/documentation mostly gives you a high-level understanding of the various things you can do within NoCode-X, but it doesn't provide any insights into the finer details, insider tricks, or practicalities of how to achieve what you want. As for their YouTube, the situation is just slightly better – but even there, the videos are somewhat limited. For example, their "Surviving your first week with NoCode-X" series only has 2 of the 7 videos uploaded. I'd like more and more detailed documentations and tutorials, and I'd also really appreciate guides & tutorials about how to build the fundamentals of various types of apps with NoCode-X.

2) I've also come across a few frustrating bugs and/or UX issues. When creating a template, my NoCode-X editor has gone blank several times, and I couldn't access the elements that I've already put on the screen, nor their settings, and not even the virtual screen itself. Other than that, making a distinction between the selecting tool and the panning tool is just frustrating... I constantly find myself having to manually switch between selecting and panning. For example, I drag the screen to the side to access an element; then I have to switch tools to to actually select it; and when I'm done, I have to switch back to the panning tool again to drag my screen somewhere else. Also, the way the settings tab of the various elements pops up is just weird (to me) – having a fixed sidebar would probably be cleaner and feel a bit nicer UX/UI-wise.

I really hope the dev(s) will consider my feedback for making NoCode-X even better! It seems extremely powerful already, and the roadmap is very promising. I'd say get it while you can – it's one of those rare gems here on AppSumo.

Hey Vikingfinity

Thanks for these kind words & thanks for purchasing NoCode-X & joining our community!

We are working hard on getting the documentation & the instructional videos to a higher level. We are totally aware that this can be much better. For example surviving the first 7 days is yet to be finished and will be in the coming weeks. We also have some other features coming up that will lower the learning curve such as AI assistants that will generate pages & logic: Perfect for getting live examples of your usecase.

We will investigate the problems you came across during template building & try to fix the bugs. I perfectly understand the fact that switching between the panning & selecting tool is frustrating that's why we added a shortcut to do this: hitting & holding CTRL will switch to the selection tool & switch back to panning when letgo. While hitting & holding SHIFT will switch to the panning tool & switch back to the selection when let go.

Having a fixed sidebar is something that we here a lot & are looking into if we can quickly get this up and running.

We truly value your feedback & will do the best we can to make NoCode-X better! If you ever have any more feedback or you came across quirks do not hesitate to reach out!

Kind regards
Tristan
