Q: Tailscale exit node?

Works great so far!

I’ve successfully connected a Notte session using `TailnetProxy` with Tailscale OAuth credentials. It reaches my Mac over the tailnet, but public websites still see your cloud IP.

Can the session use my Mac as a **Tailscale exit node**? How do I select it? If unsupported, can I combine `TailnetProxy` with an HTTP forward proxy running on that Mac?
My goal is to route research traffic through my own internet connection without using your residential proxy pool.

A: Thanks for the detailed report. You're right: today `TailnetProxy` only routes traffic addressed to tailnet devices, so anything public still leaves from our cloud IP. There's currently no way to pick an exit node, and `TailnetProxy` can't be combined with another proxy in the same session.

Workaround for now: run an authenticated HTTP forward proxy on your Mac, make it reachable from the internet (for example a port forward on your router), and pass it as an `ExternalProxy` instead of `TailnetProxy`. Public sites will then see your home IP, and none of our residential pool is used.

We're adding exit-node selection to `TailnetProxy` so you can name your Mac directly. When it ships, your Mac will need to be an approved exit node, and your tailnet policy will need to let `tag:notte` reach `autogroup:internet`. I will ping you once this is out

Excellent! So far I'm loving the tool. People need this tool more than they realize if they plan on doing any amount of ongoing research with their agents. Great job.
