Q: Tier 2 vs Tier 3

Hello,
I'm interested in Nowa and interested in giving it a try! Could you explain me better all the differences between tier 2 vs tier 3, in newbie friendly terms?

What I'm more interested to understand is the "storage" aspect; what does it exactly mean? Let's say I'd like to create an app to stream audios, from, storage refers to the hosting of said audios?

Do you have the ability to create paywalls and subscriptions for clients? Like being able to stream certain audios only by subscribing to the app? Is NOWA fully GDPR compliant and do we have the ability to have users register an account?

Thank you, best regards!

A: Hey!

Happy that Nowa got your interest ;) so let me compare it in a very simple way:

Tier 2 and Tier 3 are the same in everything except four things: deployment, storage, asset size, and seats. With Tier2 you can convert your project into an App that you can distribute 10 times per week, let's say you have five projects, and you finished building them and want to deploy an app from each one in the same day, that's five deployments, then after two days you updated 3 of your project (built a new feature) and wanted to publish the updated one, here's another three deployments, so you have two left for the week. If you crossed them, you have to wait until the next week to reset your deployments to 10 again. For Tier3 it's unlimited.

The 2nd one is that your total project size has to be under 5GB for Tier 2 but unlimited for Tier 3. Let's say you build an app that has sounds on it, so you upload those sounds to one project. Then, that project will get bigger in size, making your total size get closer to 5GB, so you have to maybe stream them (has it uploaded somewhere else, and you stream those sounds inside the app through the internet.

3rd difference is Asset size. For Tier 2, a single file uploaded into your project should be 50 MB or less, for Tier 3, it can be up to 200. So you can let's say, upload a video to your app that is 80MB with Tier 3 but not with Tier 2.

The last one is that with Tier 3, you have four extra seats, so you can bring four other people (your team) to your workspace and enjoy Tier 3 benefits of that workspace (unlimited deployment, 200mb asset size, etc.).

Regarding in-app payments. For now, the way to do it is using Custom code, but soon, we will launch it as a plugin in our coming Marketplace. And yes we are GDPR complient.

In terms of having a user register an account, you will use services like Firebase, Supbase, or your own backend to store user data. Nowa is only a front-end building tool, but that kind of info is stored on the backend (Firebase and Supbase are no-code backend solutions that we integrate with)

Hope it helps :) let me know if you have another question.
