I mean can I just do it by making changes to the domain?

Hi! We don't understand what you are trying to do, use a Noysi subdomain? then there is no point in buying the CNAME.
The CNAME only makes sense if you have your own domain or subdomain. Without a domain under your power, you cannot edit a url.
There are very cheap domains nowadays.

You'll need to register a domain name, but you *do not* need to host a website to use the CNAME feature (it's just a DNS record on your domain).
You probably won't be able to point the main domain (i.e. xyz.com) to Noysi, but you could point community.xyz.com at Noysi without hosting.
Hi! We do have cases pointing directly to a domain, a subdomain is not necessary. If the domain or subdomain points to domains.noysi.com it will work, it is important not to use www that many customers have written the 3 www and obviously does not work.
