Platform: 5 Tacos / Deal: 1 Taco
First of all: The platform is easily worth 5 Tacos. No questions about that, nothing to explain, great. Period!
But the Deal ... what a kind of deal should this be? In the Features-List of the Deal most Fees have the note "normal Fees apply". Most of the Fees are exactly the same Fees as they charge in theire Free Plan. The onliest difference is on the "fee per subscriber": It´s one Dollar per subscrber. On theire free plan you get the one dollar once you have more then 10k subscribers.
So the real only benefit you have with this deal is: 10 hours free videos. But wait ... not monthly. It´s 10 hours forever. You can delete a video and use the space for something else, but the limit stays: 10 hours. Having a streaming-platform with only 10 hours of Video is not realistic.
They always write in the questions-section the 10 hours would not be a limit. You can upload as much as you want. Yes, sure, and I will have to pay another 4 Dollars for every hour. But not once ... every month again. And again. And again. If you publish one hour of video every week (which is really not a lot for a video-platform) your cost will raise by 16 Dollars monthly. It will not be "16 dollars monthly", it will raise (!) by 16 Dollars monthly.
While this pricing might be totally okay for this kind of business, I don´t see any aspect of a Lifetime-Deal in this product. The limit is so hard, it makes absolutely no sense to use this product without paying extra. So why?
The absolute absurde thing is the offer to stack codes. If you stack codes, you get more channels ... but not more hours per channel. You buy one code for 99 Dollars and you have a limit of 10 hours. Buy 10 codes for 990 Dollars and you have 10 channels with a limit of 10 hours each. Why not adding this numbers and allowing 100 hours spread over all channels? There is one simple reason: With 100 hours of video, you could run a streaming-platform without (!) buying extra-hours. It would at least give the feeling of a LTD.
However, recently the pricing is what totally kills me. I won´t pay 4 Dollars every month for old videos and I won´t switch my whole business to a streaming-platform only to gain enough subscribers to make it pay out itself.
I would love to see usefull limits that allow us to use the platform in a realistic way, with the option to buy more video-hours but also with the option to run it as a small, stable platform.
Ah, last thing: Offering it for free as a promotion-toll is also a nice idea. But also when you put the price on zero (!) Dollars for a subscription, they still charge 1 Dollar for every (free) subscriber. And 4 Dollars for every hour of video. Monthly. On a Lifetime-Deal.
No the deal does ot feel like a good deal to me.
