Alright my review of Omni.us

I missed the LTD boat on Instantly last year and was paying for the $97 a month plan. Earlier this year I saw a YouTube video from Alex about Omni and fast-forward 7 months and I was thoroughly surprised and delighted when Omni was launched on Appsumo. I thought: "THIS is a no brainer - I mean the guy who wrote the Cold Email Manifesto created a SaaS for cold email? Surely this thing would be fantastic. Sign me up!"

Well, hold on...not so fast! I tried to decipher the Appsumo deal. Honestly- it wasn't very clear at first. But after I got my head around it, I noticed it wasn't an Instantly killer (too bad).

Alex is selling limited seats with unlimited sends and unlimited active leads (at the higher tiers) while Nils' Instantly is selling unlimited seats with limited active leads. But, I thought, for me - a solopreneur - this could work and everything would be unlimited. But, before buying, I did the trial on their website. Yeah you need a credit card, but I could try it out for free and always cancel if I needed to before the trial ended.

And then, well, right off the bat I had issues: I couldn't save my sequences or my signature unless i was Incognito on Chrome. I emailed text support and am happy to report they got back to me in about two hours! AND as it turned out, the issue was with a 3rd-party Chrome extension (clodura - another Appsumo deal LOL). After I turned it off, Omni saved everything like it should.

But I could not connect my email addresses, kept getting SMTP connection errors. I contacted tech support and the issues were fixed the next day. I now have 22 email addresses sending emails with no problems. Tech support has been great!

Are there things I wished the platform had that are currently missing? Yes, but it's a new platform and some of the features I want tech support assured me are on the road map to be completed by q4. Yay!

So, yes, a bit of a rocky start, but everything was sorted out pretty quickly. The interface is modern and not as cluncky as Mystrika. And for my specific use case - a one man agency needing to send unlimited number of emails to an unlimited number of active leads - this is working like a champ. Instantly caps your active leads, and so does Mystrika (oh, i have that one too). And for that: 5 tacos!
