I'm half-way through One Hour Hero, applying the lessons and tactical takeaways to my not-for-profit. Our NFP can't afford marketing support, but there are quick-wins we can take with volunteer effort.
For example, three weekends ago I setup our Google myBusiness page. Within a week, we had our first telephone call and folks started finding us via Google Maps. Two weekends ago, I setup our Google Analytics tags on our web pages, and this weekend I could see and analyze our web-traffic. Now I'm working on setting up Goals in Google Analytics.
Each lesson is practical, short, and sufficient to make a meaningful impact. Ideal for the startup, side-gig, or volunteer organization.
It's shocking how many businesses haven't taken these simple steps. During a day-job conversation with a venture-backed startup today, I noticed they hadn't even setup their Google myBusiness page -and they've got Millions of dollars invested in getting their marketing right!
I highly recommend One Hour Hero. I easily got my money's worth in the first few lessons. Five stars.
