For me, it's a winner
I'm going to explain my use case of OneTake so that you can evaluate it for yourself. If you want the summary of what I'm about to say, here it is: it's a great tool. If you need to produce videos consistently but the editing part is a pain in the neck, this tool is going to remove that pain and make it look professional.
Now, on to the proper review.
I am a language teacher. I teach Brazilian Portuguese. I have struggled to produce video content consistently. My videos were simple but they need certain visuals to make it easier for people to understand what I'm saying.
Coming up with visuals and putting them on the screen at the right time consumes a lot of time. And it's time I use to teach students and actually make a living. So I postponed producing videos because I was too busy teaching.
I purchased the first tier of OneTake yesterday. So it's been one day since I started using it. I used it with two videos. And I am happy with the results.
Most of my videos are just me talking to the camera and explaining stuff. The presentation that OneTake creates automatically is good. Sometimes, the AI goes crazy and puts everything I say over there, not only the main points. But I like it this way because, as I said, I am teaching Brazilian Portuguese. If I can make my videos more accessible to watch, I am so much happier.
(besides, OneTake does a great job at identifying the main themes of what I’m saying and dividing the video into “sections”.)
I also saw that OneTake inserted some cuts in my videos and made the transitions very smooth. The video that I published was an eight-minute video. If I were to edit it to the level that OneTake did, it would've taken at least two hours — on a good day — and my back would be killing me.
I see that for some people the way OneTake inserts the presentation might be repetitive. One side, another side. One side, another side. Well, if you produce several videos in that same style, yes, it can be repetitive. But for me, it's good enough.
I have used other tools. Some of them are good, but I think what OneTake excels at is its workflow. It's simple. I can integrate it into my "production line." I mean that I don't have to go out of my way to use this tool. I love it.
Now, as I said, I purchased the first tier. As soon as my credit allows, I'll go to the second tier. With the first tier, I can publish about five videos a month (about eight minutes each, with the AI help for transcription and presentation). I want to publish eight videos and a few YouTube shorts and I think the second tier will allow for that. I don’t intend to use the translation feature, but I see why people might like it.
All in all, it's a great tool. I hope OneTake grows and grows and becomes a big company. I can certainly see myself using it for a long time.

May 9, 2024Wow thanks for that beautiful message Eli!
Did you notice that the OneTake interface is entirely available in Brazilian Portuguese too? (it's a brazilian flag at the top right :-)
There's a lot of new features coming that I think will help you make your videos even more accessible. Plus, we're releasing on Wednesday an AI music compositor inside OneTake, give it a try and let me know what you think!
