Q: Just bought one code to test it out and I really like what I see so far.

I usually use Nifty and really like their setup and UI/UX a lot.

But ORA has some nice features.
Obviously I cannot test all features that quickly but I will and then write another review.

What I am missing - and maybe I just don't see or understand it:

1. When a task is dependent on another task, this dependent task should not be able to be checked off or done until the task it is dependent on is done. I mean I see that the task shows "it blocks" or "is blocked by" but I can still check it off so it gets moved to the next stage or I can also move it to the DONE list. Am I missing something or is it not possible to achieve that? A dependent task in Nifty cannot be checked off or moved to Done until the task it is dependent on is DONE.

2. How or where do the Milestones come in. Again Nifty allows me to setup Milestones and add tasks to these milestones and I can have dependencies between those milestones (this way all the tasks of milestone 2 are blocked until all tasks of milestone 1 are completed) and I can set start and end date for all milestones as well. Even the tasks that are added to the milestones do automatically get the start and due date of the milestones if not otherwise specified.
But where can I see the milestones in action - I do not have a milestone task list, nor can I seem to set start and end date. The only place I see the milestones is in the Timeline view but there I see them only as a little mention.

3. Do we have a files tab - that shows me all the files, that are attached to tasks or manually added to the project somewhere?
I personally think it would be best to have one main folder per project and then the option to create as many (nested) sub folders as we want for organizational purposes. And I should see all files that are/were attached to a task get listed in this projects "Task Attachments" folder for example.

4. Do we have the option to create or work on documents - like doc files or tables that allow for collaborated work with team members and or clients/observers?

5. I see you have custom fields - but can these custom fields be assigned also to the project or only to the tasks. For example I want to say this project is worth $5000 - but I seem to only be able to assign this custom field to a task.

6. Do you offer some form of whitelabel - what I mean is the emails and notifications sent out - can those be setup via CNAME to come from our own email addresses?

7. When you add a new task by sending an email to that task - all linebreaks show a weird "ora-empty-line" followed by an actual empty line in the created task. Can you fix that?

8. I know I can use MarkDown to write the task descriptions but how can I switch between MarkDown view and actual view?

If you could answer some or maybe even all of these questions I would be very thankful.

Cheers

A: Hello, thank you for all the questions!

1) In Ora you can move blocked tasks & complete them. We'll consider adding an option to "disable" the task while it's blocked.
3) As of now, there is the Files tab but it's only for Channels in the chat. We'll make this functionality available in projects as well!
4) We don't support real-time collaboration for external documents at the moment. That's a feature we have our eyes on
5) You can use the project description which is visible in the project settings to set the value of projects. However, you'll have to go to the projects settings to see this info
6) Ora doesn't offer white-label / Cname. We've been discussing this but we cannot promise anything as of now
7) This is an unknown issue. We'll test and fix it!
8) Actually, Ora 3 supports real-time Markdown. For example, if at the start of a row you type # TITLE 1 - this will be converted automatically to the actual view

1) that would be cool - I mean it makes sense that you can move a blocked task to the next stage (because maybe we want to get started on the task) but you sure as heck should not be able to complete a blocked task without at least getting a notification that tells us that there is something we need to finish first.

2) Can you explain how these milestones work in Ora. I think you skipped this question. Thanks.

3) that would be awesome - allow for files and folders (with subfolders) - this allows for easy orgaization.

4) ok thanks to let me know. So we should use Google's own docs and sheets for now?

5) yes but what would be awesome is, if we could assign custom fields like (project's worth) to the task in a CRM like project, and then see a sum of all the projects in the different stages. I think Airtable and ClickUp allow for adding tons of custom fields to tasks or projects and then work with this data in the list view.

6) Ok. Maybe consider it.

7) This is what it generates from the email: https://gmx485.d.pr/OEvaZi

8) Funny. Now it is working. Wasn't working before for whatever reason.

9) I already answered over there.
