Q: Portal templates, files, folders, pages, embed third party tools
Hello, Tony. Can client portals/workspaces be dynamically generated from templates? Are there templates for portals and folders? What about pages? Is there a way to upload files dynamically through a webhook or API? I don't see a way to create folders or upload files in the test portal offered on your website. Do you support embedding other tools in the portal?

Yes, you can create document and task templates, and set them to be automatically added when a customer is onboarded with a specific plan. Their workspace gets populated from those templates right away.
(Nested and project templates are also coming soon.)
About uploading files dynamically: not possible yet. There is no public API right now, but it is planned for later this year. If you want, feel free to tell me more about your workflow, I am curious to see how you would use it?
Right now, you can upload files directly inside tasks and comments to keep everything organized.
For embedding third-party tools, it is something I am thinking more and more about, especially for custom pages. Next week I will release a way to embed an iframe OR a link directly into the customer's sidebar (So this might be enough for you?)
Hope this clears it up!
Hi Anthony,
Thanks for the answers. It is clearer, but I think folders, subfolders, and a way to save those along with docs, embed and other elements as a template would be very useful and have a lot of utility. I have some instances where I have clients in a niche and they all got similar deliverables personalized to their details. I want to spin it all up during account creation.
If you get a moment, take a look at SuperOkay (https://appsumo.com/products/superokay/). Their client portals/workspaces are excellent, this is what I up you can measure up as you develop this more. The drawback is they have no API or webhooks, so there is no way to really integrate or automate anything.

This is actually already the case! Each document can be considered as a folder as well (You can have sub-document)
I will soon enable re-ordable documents and also everything as document (So you'll be able to create Folders with customers in it for instance, and also tasks as sub-items of some documents!)

Not really about SuperOkay, they seems to have a good product, but their portal seems so hard to use? A lot if going on in it!
I agree webhooks, API is essential (This is why API is also in the work, but pretty hard to pull off for now, I've got to focus on other priorities 🥹)
What about file uploads? Are you calling every element a document? I have looked twice, I don't see how to add separate files, so I am not understanding why storage limits would apply.

Documents are in other words a note shared with your customers and are not "Files" per se!
You have unlimited documents within Orchestra, just not unlimited file upload 👌
Thanks, Anthony. I keep asking about files, but I'm not getting the answers I asked for. I think I will look for other solutions. Thanks and good luck.
