Great balance of simple and powerful
I started coding websites the old fashioned way over twenty years ago, so when it comes to making web pages I've got... opinions. :) Most page builders cause me more frustration and leave me feeling locked in.
I'm excited about Pagemaker as a way to make a really nice site, very, very fast. For both myself and clients.
I appreciate that it offers both the "simple" way, with drag and drop templates, yet does not restrict you from colouring outside the lines with more "advanced" options.
As a developer I like that I can do what I want to do, while still offering a client the ability to pop in and make basic changes on their own, without technical overwhelm.
Big bonus for me that it's based on Tailwind CSS for styling, as it's what I use in my own coding.
I can drop in my own custom code block in the middle of the editable page and add anything I want. (again, with the Tailwind styling which means you can copy/paste from the thousands of readily available components from other places) And... bonus! ... I can even incorporate easy-editable text blocks in my custom code. (Probably not a supported feature... but it works!)
I can export my pages as HTML which means I'm not trapped inside their system if I wanted to take a PageMaker site and turn it into its own thing.
Offering webhooks as a way to connect/integrate forms with anything keeps your options wide open.
I sent in a support question about a missing menu button for SEO (mentioned in the docs) and recevied a helpful response the next morning pointing me to its new location. (moved due to recently added multi-page features, I presume)
I'm feeling very optimistic that this is a platform I can build on without feeling like I'm going to get trapped.
