Q: Can I use this tool to search for papers from Google Scholar?
Where are the 200+ million papers used by this tool coming from? Are those papers free to access, or will I have to pay separate subscriptions to access them? Are there any filters to select where I want the papers to come from? Is Google Scholar an option?
Also, I'm interested to learn what research features this tool has. Does it have any features that make research easier and faster? Are there any ways to look for specific information on multiple papers at the same time, without having to read them? Is there a feature to compare multiple different papers? When I search for papers to use in my research, will I have to rely on searching only by keywords, or can I just describe to the AI using natural language the specific information I'm looking for, and the AI would be able to locate relevant papers that contain this info?
Thank you!

Edited Mar 10, 2026A: Hi,
Thanks for your question. Currently we use Semantic Scholar as our primary source for research papers and we are adding open alex and pubmed also in a couple of weeks to enhance our Public research database. Google scholar is not being used currently as a source. We have filters like publishing year, citation count, field of research, SJR ranking quartiles, open access status and PDF status currently. Working to add couple of more filters in our future releases.
The product primarily relies on gen AI features and works with natural language prompting. You can use "Extract Data" feature to extract specific information on multiple papers at the same time (in a tabular format) and also use it to compare different papers. Extract data supports upto 50 columns for comparision across upto 100 papers at a time. You can also use chatwithpdf to chat with multiple papers at a time in natural language prompting style.
