The customer service at payfunnels may well be it’s strongest feature.
I am a content creator fighting for disability rights, and used the platform to set up my own pay what you want subscription. This is so people can support me with whichever amount they are most comfortable with.
Throughout the process of setting up my payment link and account, the payfunnels team was always there to support. I am from the Netherlands and ideal is a very important payment method for me, but it wasn’t supported for subscriptions yet. After e-mailing payfunnels customer service, they contacted stripe and had it fixed in less than a week.
On top of having a great product, they don’t charge any additional customer fees. Normally you would have to pay for a subscription instead, but with the appsumo lifetime deal you don’t have to even do that. I would highly recommend getting it as even the highest tier pays itself back if you use it for about half a year.
It is also great that you can forward processing fees.
There are a few improvements I would like to see:
First, stripe expres checkout isn’t available on payfunnels yet. I used to use stripe’s own subscription feature before switching to payfunnels, and they natively support expres checkout. That means the customer doesn’t have to fill in any information at all, they can just pay with apple pay for example and the information stored there is used to fill in things like name and e-mail adres.
Second, I think the mrr stats in the subscriptions dashboard is a bit lacking. It takes a long time for your subscriptions to reflect in mrr stats, only after the first recuring payment to be exact. Moreover, it is gross mrr. I would love to have net mrr, after processing fees. As processing fees for each payment method are publically available in stripes documentation, you can easily have that calculated. It just takes more time to do it manually.
Finally, it would be nice to have paypal available as an extra payment method, but I believe the team is looking in to that at the moment.
To conclude, I really believe it is worth getting this deal. While there are some improvements I would like to see, the basic product is really good. And most importantly, the customer service is good and does it’s job really well. In everything, communication is the most important thing.
If the service continues to grow based on user feedback, I think it can only become better. I look forward to seeing where the team decides to take it next.
