I kind of like it, a lot
It is not perfect. If I don’t specify the file type, I might not get the size reduction I’m after. 8mb max size for images is a little annoying as I mostly resize large images. The background remover does not always work on resized images. I have only a couple of times seen a «drag an image here» box. Most of the time I need to browse for my file to upload it.
There is no way to move an image into a folder. There is only one effect «Black & White».
But support is great. They are working on these issues and they will be adding more effects. So all-in-all I am pretty excited by PP, especially the API feature where I can remove the background, apply an effect, etc without having to log into PP.
I believe in the teams ability to iron out the issues 💪🏼

Answering some of your questions
1. Not retaining the size reduction if not file size is mentioned - we have an algo that assumes that the user wants the system to determine the file size in case no other inputs are provided and the algo does that basis other signals. But I understand this might not be intuitive and we will call this out clearly on the GUI and also make amends to the algorithm.
2. On the 8MB limit - this was basis previous feedback that we came up with the 8MB number, but happy to increase it given new feedback . I am happy to double it - I am thinking 16MB. Assuming 16MB addresses most of the cases.
3. The background remover works on .png files. In case you converted it from .jpg to .png you need to download it and reupload the .png file for it to remove the background. I know this is not the best answer and we are working on letting the background removal happen without the need to download and reupload in cases where there was a file format conversion.
4. We are working on the folder ask of moving images along with providing permissions for specific people to view specific folders. This is now part of the roadmap.
Thank you once again for your feedback and I look forward to your continued support :)
