Q: Hi, 1.

So if I already have Google analytics then your solution helps in doing what? Persona means , you will segment and tell me what kind of customer comes to my site but then how is it different from using Google analytics plus analytify?

2. You are saying one type of social media persona is part of deal while other is not due to monthly costs, so which one is it? I can already see who is present on my Facebook page, so what more is your solution doing?

3. It seems vastly different from traditional market research, since here you seems to be analyzing inbound traffic, and then are predicting what type of customers are coming to site (referred as persona). Is this understanding correct?

4. What is your long term vision in context of generating monthly revenue and honoring this deal, which regular plan on your site is this deal mapped to? What if you discontinue plan or rename it and forcefully upsell us to a regular plan?

5. Can you explain meaning of various terms as stated in your plan and deal terms?

Thanks

A: Hi,

1. The primary difference between our software and other web analytics tools is in the abstractions and presentation of insights. Our dashboards present data with automatic segmentation on the basis of psychographics, behavior, demographics, geographics and transactions as people (personas) and not as numbers (dimensions and metrics), making the data directly actionable based on persona based use-cases like better targeting, effective messaging and increased conversions.

Also, please see our note in the "From the founders" section above for some challenges with manual/traditional analysis of analytics data that is overcome with our solution (industry specific insights, automated segmentation, etc).

2. In terms of social analysis, what is included in this deal is the social enrichment feature within Live/Competitor Persona offerings. This feature works as follows: Our platform first creates the outline of the personas (we refer to them as "signatures", let's say "Digital Marketers, based in New York") from analytics data. Then it searches in the public domain (reviews and social media, for example) for profiles that match this signature and when available, uses those pages to learn more about such users (for e.g. which news sources do they read, their goals/challenges) and then enriches the respective personas.

3. In terms of comparison with traditional market research, here is a relevant snippet from our blog (https://www.delve.ai/blog/create-buyer-personas-google-analytics): Buyer personas are created usually using user surveys and interviews. Such qualitative methods can be expensive, time-absorbing and cover only a small section of the entire base of buyers. Using reports from Google Analytics to create personas, complementing qualitative methods, enables incorporation of buyer insights from data at scale. In an era of fast changing consumer behavior, it also allows for frequent updates that keep personas relevant. Further, they may help uncover customer groups or niches that you were previously not aware of.

4. Customers purchasing AppSumo Tier 1 will receive future updates to our Business Standard Plan. Customers purchasing AppSumo Tiers 2 & 3 will receive future updates to our Agency Standard Plan. If plan names ever change, lifetime plans will receive updates & features of the new plan the lifetime plan most closely resembles.

5. We are adding tooltips (short explanations on hover) for all plan related terms on our pricing page (https://www.delve.ai/pricing). Please check after 24 hours.

Also, can I use it for my clients and if yes, can I delete data of one client if they stop paying and use that spot for new one.

What information can I give to clients and how can it benefit them.

Thanks

Hi,

1. Industry specific insights - Here is a relevant snippet from our blog article (https://www.delve.ai/blog/create-buyer-personas-google-analytics): By analyzing user behaviors (e.g. viewed pages and searches), key structured attributes that are specific to your industry/vertical, are also extracted. For example, in the apparel & fashion industry, keywords are grouped and presented in terms of relevant attributes such as size, gender, occasion, type, color, age-group, etc.

2. Yes, the former - It analyzes your website audience first and for each segment generated, tries to find real profiles that match the signature of the persona (e.g. "Digital Marketers in New York City") and then enriches the respective personas with additional attributes such as news/media sources, etc based on analysis of the matching profiles found.
3. Filters allow you to create personas using a subset of the traffic on your website. You can use them to create region-specific (e.g. include only US traffic), channel-specific (e.g. only Instagram traffic), device-specific (e.g. only mobile traffic) or product/service/category specific persona (e.g. only specified URL pattern).
As for Competitor Persona, you will need the competitor website domains. We do not have a feature as it to identify/recommend online competitors.
4. With a deep understanding of your and your competitor's users, such as goals & pains, communication preferences, influential resources in decision making, media preferences, industry-specific insights and audience intelligence in terms of How, Where, When, Who & What, you can use them for better targeting, effective messaging and increased conversions. Popular use-cases of the personas generated by our platform are: gaining clarity on best-performing segments (by comparing performing segments against non-performing segments), refining ideal customer profile, improving customer experiences based on bottle necks identified from journeys, identifying advertising opportunities and targeting ideas, comparing marketing strategies against competitors and generating content that resonates better with your users.
5. We are a 3-year old start-up, with a team of 9 (6 full-time + 3 free-lancers) based across San Francisco and Bangalore.
6. Analyzing your social media profiles/pages and extracting personas of your social media audiences (Social Persona product offering, yet to be launched) is not a part of this deal.

Hello Rajat,

Now I am pretty clear about most of things except

1. So in simple words all personas created (under this deal) are mainly based on inbound traffic on website. The only exception is, competitor personas in which one needs to input competitor website to generate persona and associated insights. So for sake of simplicity, one can say you are giving me a tool to generate personas based on website data which I can use to infer better marketing research insights. Is this understanding correct?

2. I under social media tool (not paet of this deal) once released by you can be connected to social platforms like Facebook pages to generate personas. But isn't those insights already provided by Facebook and other platforms. So I am confused, what value addition your feature (or stand alone social tool) will provide, may be better presentation or what? Also this tool will work with which social media platforms.

Then the business reason for not giving this feature is what, API cost of Facebook but isn't that free, or you are worried about server costs with regular data push/ pull function. Is that the logic?

3. Can you suggest, what new features you may add in coming months for sumolings. Will this work with all types of sites: WordPress (developed using Divi), cloud hosted like brizy.io etc.

Thanks

Hi,

1. Our Live Persona offering helps you gain deep understanding of your website audiences. Given that the objective is to get insights about website visitors and buyers, inbound traffic data (analytics/search console) are the primary data sources used. Once the users/buyers are segmented, the personas are enriched using publicly available "voice of the customer" data (reviews/social media/blogs/communities/forums).

2. Unlike audience insights provided by social media platforms, which typically are dimensions and metrics, much like Google Analytics, our goal with our Social Persona offering (yet to be launched) is to provide deep insights about your social media segments (such as follower, mentioner, etc) by analyzing the public social profiles and inferring group level insights such as who their influencers are, which news sources nd/or youtube channels they follow, etc. We use direct integrations with social platforms as well as public data analyzers (that help analyze billions of public social profiles) and hope to effectively provide insights at scale with reasonable response times.

3. Yes, the tool will work with websites built on all platforms as long as website analytics data is tracked correctly. As far as supported countries, languages and industries go, you can find the information on our FAQ page (https://www.delve.ai/faq).

Sujit/ Rajat,

1. I want to buy tier 3 and I want to use it on my sites and client sites. Can I allocate some limits on my subaccounts?

2. You mentioned somewhere that tier 3 provides add ons and you give 20% buffer over allocated quota, but then one has to upgrade. Well I don't want to upgrade, can't you just put some constraint at backend (like no more personas captured in particular month) once my monthly quota finishes and then I can resume tool usage from next month onwards once new limits are set.

Think of it as data in Statistical tool, I can drive interpretations of persona for my sites with allocated quota in tier 3 and then extrapolate them to larger set. Ultimately it is data based prediction in my opinion.

3. What may be cost of social media personas feature, also are costs due to data push/pull of APIs (as offered by social platforms) or what?

Thanks

Yes, if you have agency plans (Tiers 2 or 3), you can delete one client and replace with another client.
You can either add your clients as additional user for a specific business/website or export the personas as JPG/PDF and share with them. Most agencies share their recommendations on how marketing campaigns/customer experiences can be refined based on the learnings from the personas, when sharing these personas with their clients.

5. live personas: Typical number of personas generated per website
6. filters: Feature to create personas based on subset of users (rather than all traffic e.g. users from only one country) for a website
