What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?
Before Petrova, I wore a lot of hats. I’ve worked at early-stage startups as an Founding engineer, led product launches, and even helped scale a fintech platform. Some projects took off, others flopped hard — but each one taught me how to move faster, build better, and obsess over what users actually care about. One of my earlier products never gained traction. We had a slick interface, but I got stuck in a perfection loop and never shipped it—a mistake I promised never to repeat. This time, we built a real-life product shaped by dozens of customer conversations. Petrova wasn’t built in isolation—it was built by listening, iterating, and launching early. This isn’t just a tool for me — it’s a product born from everything I’ve learned the hard way.
What 3rd party tools is your product critically dependent on?
Petrova doesn’t critically depend on any third-party tools, while we do use a few third-party services for optional features (like generating job description), these are not critical to our product’s core functionality.
Where is your customer data stored?
All customer data is securely stored on MongoDB Atlas, hosted across AWS data centers in both the US and India. We ensure high availability, encryption at rest, and full compliance with industry-standard security protocols to protect customer information.
What is your current monthly recurring revenue (MRR)?
Our current MRR is around $500.

What’s the origin of the idea for your product?
I was hiring for a startup and found myself drowning in unqualified AI powered resumes and no-shows. We thought, “What if AI could pre-screen candidates and give us real insights before the first call?” That’s how Petrova was born — to make people evaluation smarter, faster, and scalable.
What problem is your product solving and how?
Petrova solves the pain of manual screening. It runs real-time or async video interviews, asks follow-up questions, and evaluates responses using AI scores, transcripts, summaries, and behavioral insights — helping you instantly spot great fits (and bad ones) without wasting hours.
What’s the #1 thing you’re looking to gain from the AppSumo campaign?
Validation from a community that gets it. We want feedback, real-world use cases, and early adopters who’ll push Petrova to grow faster and smarter.
What are your plans with the customers, cash, and learnings from the AppSumo campaign?
We’ll reinvest everything back into acquiring recurring revenue (MRR).
