After pictory disappointment i might stop buying deals from appsumo
why do we buy the new deals from appsumo, why? because we see potential and we hope in future when product becomes a hit and they launch new features then we would be able to use those new professional images. we make that investment by hoping if that becomes a hit we will get the upgrades and save money. i am extremely disappointed with pictory for this reason. now recently that have made much needed upgrades in their platform by introducing realistic ai voices and getty images upgrade to platform. but i can confirm that all those upgrades are available to any monthly paying subscribers for even the starter packages but the appsumo users for even top tier purchases are not able to use those upgrades. so what we are getting is still the 2-3 year old pictory. whats the point of buying these deals from appsumo if we are not going to get the future upgrades even when the seller has clearly mentioned in this listing. where is appsumo support on this? what you are guys going to do about it. you advertised this on your platform. dont you have any control on such sellers who literally abuse your platform and your customers. really dissappointed.
Pictory is so amazing. I got it, but did not use it for months. Then I tried it. Compared to InVideo, Viddoyze, and Flexclip, the workflow is just much faster.
That is, I start from an article, copy it in and BOOM - I have a video. Then I go back and preview it, changing any of the stock video segments. Most of the time, what Pictory chooses is good.
Then I chose the background music, and the voice over.
Normally I use my own voice. But the AI voices are good IF I do two things. A) chose one of the newer voices (non-robotic). B) edit the script so it sounds like a real human is reading. That is, no grammar errors. Then preview and Publish!
If you need to crank out videos fast. Pictory is it. Also, they have a lot of great training videos.
What a great tool. Even though the deal is over, I wanted to share my appreciation to the devs for such an awesome video tool and the constant updates. Pictory isn't my only video app, but it's definitely a favorite. Love the branded intro/outro feature which can be customized, and the script to video and voice synch are winners.

Not going to lie, I have a number of tools that do video generation and some of them are rather niched, I'll use them for generating a little bit of background video for a website or creating a very intentional piece of marketing, but it's very likely that this little app is going to replace all of them. First off, unlimited renders is huge, even though I seldom ever hit even close to my limit on other platforms, most because I'm afraid to even get close to my limits because I probably have some sort of adult-onset OCD. But when I saw that this could take my own voice over and sync it up with the words on the screen and make it all turn out flawlessly with lots of great background video options I was hooked. Plus I will say there is a very active Facebook Community behind this and it seems like the devs take a big role in that.
