A Vidnami REPLACEMENT in the making
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The UI and UX is simple and easy to maneuver even without going through their much appreciated walkthrough guides upon initial login. I was eager to get to making videos, so I skipped the guides, and I was able to create 6 videos without issue.
AFTER FIRST USE:
As mentioned above, Pictory UI is very intuitive. I was able to easily jump in and use the Article to Video module for my existing blog posts. The Ai b-roll video selection isn't the best but the ability to perform a refined search for a replacement video was easy.
The additional tweaking necessary to create a usable video still requires less time, then having to manually go to a stock video website download the asset, then import to a video editing program and then match with a specific sentence.
The edit videos with voice using text feature is amazing. The ability to quickly edit out all the filler words is amazing. The cut is a little abrupt, but it's better than hearing the filler word. I was also able to trim down an existing video asset to include only highlights at record time. Before, I had to remember certain sections of the video to cut. Now, I can easily skim through the script and highlight the key talking points in the video and voilà, done and done. I love it.
CONCLUSION:
If you are tired of using a full-blown video editor to create small easily to digest video media, then Pictory is the SaaS for you. I was planning on picking up Vidnami, but that is no longer available. Therefore, I was on the hunt for an alternative. I think I've found it. A few more improvements to Pictory and they will surely surpass what was once Vidnami.
