Great app - make sure you experiment with a small number of pins first
Loving this app so far. I was able to schedule a year's worth of pin in one day.
You used to be able to do something like this in Tailwind, but you can't anymore. Pin Generator seems to be singularly focused on facilitating bulk pin generation, which I really like.
Pros:
- csv import is excellent (this is what I use)
- simple interface (it isn't overwhelming or complicated)
- seems stable, no major bugs
- developer seems invested and makes helpful YouTube tutorials
Cons:
- not clear when switching between different Pinterest accounts
- I ran into trouble when scheduling a large batch of pins. Account said I didn't have anymore pin credits and wouldn't schedule the rest of my pins, even though the amount that would be going out per month we well under the pin credit limit. Maybe it was calculating the total number of pins that would go out over the course of the next year?
- since this is made for bulk creation, I made a batch of 1000 pins, thought I had everything all set and scheduled them. Then noticed that I wanted to change one of my settings so I deleted the scheduled pins, but they weren't deducted from my pin credits. So I had to purchase another stack in order to keep testing the app (other choice would have been to wait a month for the credits to renew). Not ideal. Would love to see credits deducted for pin that actually go out. Support said this wasn't possible because of the "cost" associated with generating pins. Not sure about this.
- editing pin templates is cumbersome. The template thumbnail doesn't update when you make a design change, so you have to pay close attention to the template name you assigned. I'm in no way expecting this to compete with Canva, but it would be nice to be able to preview designs with some sample data instead of having to save the template, upload CSV, apply the template and preview design changes that way.
Wish List:
- would love to see filters for the Scheduled pins
- would love to see a calendar view
Even with the cons, I'll be keeping this, and probably max stacking to get the lifetime discount. 1 year of pins for $300 is a no-brainer.

Jun 6, 2024Thanks for the great review.
You consume a credit when the image for the pin is generated. This is when you schedule, pin or download it. I need to generate the image which the the work that warrants the credit consumption. Unfortunately you wont get the credit back if you delete the pin from your schedule.
For editing the templates, the template thumbnail currently updates every 20 minutes if there has been an edit. I will make this faster for you. If you want to load a recently edited template into your currently designed pins you can click the "refresh templates" button and the new version of the template will load.
Thanks for the other suggestions.
I will work on getting them out.
Kind regards,
Ollie
