Q: Is this a Synthesia upsell ?
the demo videos on ur site, have the same head nod during pause. If yes, they claim they have fixed / removed it as people found it unsettling. Is there option to remove that nod and blink for pauses.
Is there any restriction on content, in terms of keyword restriction,or blocking of mature themed content (other than any hate speech etc). Majority of providers are overly restrictive.
How are custom avatars generated.. is it based on the actor providing a pre written script being read and submitted as video, or can it be based on a static image as well ?
$250 is per unique avatar, or once off fee to activate the functionality ?
Thanks.

No, considering an "upsell" implies its the same company.
Upgrade? From what I can tell, its VERY similar technologies at play here so if they implement everything they have on their road map then I'd say resoundingly YES.
Knowing what I know of AI, MOST currently active AI come from only a couple base models like GPT and Lamda for example so there is a very good chance they have the same base model which will inherently give them similarities for quite some time as they train the model for improvement.
I am not aware of any restrictions seeing as this is the first question I have seen of this asked and I am not part of their team I can't give any for sure answers here so you will have to wait for @Michael_Pipio or contact support@mypipeo.com for clarity on this question. (I expect they will also require some clarity from you prior to an answer however.)
Also, keep in mind they partner with the TTS providers, so it may not necessarily even be in their control with some of the voices.
Now as for your last question, Custom avatars are $250 EACH and they require some work and tech on your end. Get more information here www.mypipio.com/custom-avatar/
I'll summarize it quickly for you though, You NEED 10-15 minutes of footage in front of a solid background.
They suggest 4k resolution at 60 FPS but I think they can use lower quality, just keep in mind the output will suffer as well.
It takes 48-72 hrs of training time required to create the custom avatar and about 5-7 business days before you can use it.
You get two options, close-up (mid-torso up) or wider shot (mid-waist up) for custom avatars.
Only YOU will have access to your custom avatar and they do not come with voice cloning as of now.
Creating a custom avatar requires the explicit consent of the person it represents.
Hopefully, that covers most everything.
If you have any more questions just ask or shoot support@mypipeo.com an email.
Have a good weekend.

I should also mention that the video editor in Synthesia is lightyears ahead of Pipio atm so if you are wanting an all-in-one solution like Synthesia, you will probably be waiting a while for Pipeo to catch up in that category.
The Avatars, options, customizability of the avatars, and the general plan is going to be better for certain businesses and worse for others.
Synthesia is focused on business marketing and training, whereas Pipio seems to be focused on content creators and general AI quality.
That being said, these are my own personal opinions, so take them for what they are, one man's opinion.
If I needed something reliable and ready to go tomorrow, I would use Synthesia.
This is an up-and-coming business, so expecting perfection right now is wishful thinking at best.
I hope that clears up possible confusion.

@JakeVan I couldn't have put it better myself. Thank you very much for providing the above information as well as for the kind words. We couldnât agree more, including with the bit about where our editor is at versus Synthesiaâs.
Synthesia is an incredible product and as a competitor, I couldnât recommend it more if youâre looking for a high-quality, mature video editor that also happens to provide some of the most realistic avatars available. No oneâs doing it better right now from an overall product standpoint. Weâre incredibly grateful and impressed with how theyâve pioneered this technology and really helped put generative AI video on that map.
I have no doubt that some of that has been aided by the over $60M in funding theyâve secured. We, on the other hand, are fully bootstrapped and have chosen instead to focus on our core technology and building a solid, passionate user base that will allow us to continue to grow organically until there is such a time that we decide to raise funds.
Regarding our core tech, I can only speak for us (though Iâm 99% sure the same is true for Synthesia) but our avatar technology is completely proprietary and built in-house. Weâre very fortunate to have some of the most accomplished researchers in the field of human synthesis on our team, and theyâve built, in my opinion, something that is unmatched in quality and it's only going to get better. Youâll find that avatar tech built upon publicly available models (again in my opinion) does not achieve the same quality as ours or Synthesiasâ
As far as content moderation goes, we do have mechanisms in place that monitor for general âproblematicâ language (abusive, hate speech, profanity, etc.). We know that this is a sensitive topic and we want to approach it with empathy for our users but also with the understanding that we have an obligation to 1) our users and the public to prevent the misuse and abuse of our technology; and 2) to the actors who have generously donated their likeness to become one of our stock avatars. Our content guidelines policy is something that will continue to evolve over time, and weâll remain fully transparent about it at all times. For those interested, you can view our Terms of Service here: https://www.mypipio.com/terms.html
As @JakeVan mentioned, weâre also beholden to the content guidelines policies enforced by the text-to-speech services with whom weâve partnered. In these instances, we really donât have much say in the matter. But we will keep you posted in case your content is flagged in these cases.

"they do not come with voice cloning as of now."
This means it won't sound like me? How do I get it to sound like me?
Also, will there be more avator profiles available?
