Mixed feelings

I bought Tier 1 and made a video, followed by starting to make a second video... and then I paused to consider just making the video myself and refund this deal.

The software is impressive, but watching the end result still feels a bit cringy. Here's the video I made: https://youtu.be/a_xiZgw3Kxc

The biggest issue I have is that the AI sounds so 'AI'. It just lacks nuance, emotion, and certainly any sense of sincerity. It's early AI, so you can't exactly blame it, but it also doesn't know how to pronounce big words. In the above referenced video, listen to it pronounce 'defibrillation' at the 26 second mark.

Part of me is okay with how fake these videos would look to viewers and part of me is embarrassed.

The software is easy to use and has a reasonable selection of voices, backgrounds and "actors", though there should be more actors with varying outfits and ideally in additional poses beyond just 'chest-up', facing you directly. Side-angles or full body would be nice, though I suppose that would mean we (as users) would expect more from hand-gestures, etc; and that would be asking a lot.

As much as I want to keep this software and keep using it, I'm really struggling to convince myself it's worth it at this moment.

Hi @Mr_Joshua we're sorry to hear your experience with the product hasn't been what you were expecting so far.

While we believe our avatar technology ranks among the best available today, we're not looking to compete with other companies creating synthetic humans. We're looking to be seen as a very realistic, affordable, and equally-as-customizable alternative to you having to film in front of a camera for two hours, or worse, hiring someone to do it.

We’re not going to be able to accomplish this without having the ability to provide extremely realistic digital actors, and we're fully committed to traversing the uncanny valley (and leaving it comfortably in the rearview mirror) in order to make this happen.

As your concern is centered primarily around the current quality of the AI, I think it's only fair that we allow offer others the ability to review multiple different sample videos generated using the platform so that they can get an idea of what type of quality they can expect:
