A while back i sat on the Flixier deal, i missed the opportunity to buy and ended up paying for a subscription.
I won't miss another deal like that...

My pc and laptop are reasonable, but no where near what i need for running an online course community / youtube channel. On top of that, existing desktop video editing software feels really complex with a massive learning curve. It is difficult to strike a good balance between simplicity and functionality, Pixlayers are doing a good job in this respect, i was able to start using it instantly with everything being really self explanatory.
What i liked: 1. Can drag two videos together to get a transition dialogue to open 2. Access to free for commercial use video and audio. (Plenty of other options online to import from as well) 3. Online video editor, accessible from anywhere on any computer, (Video editing at the library?) 4. Similar layout to Flixier 5. Super easy to use
What it needs: 1. Account level collaboration for team members, add once to access all projects or implement project folder user permissions. Instead of adding a user to a single project each time. 2. Videos "Snap" to the end of other segments in different layers. 3. Transitions between layers 4. Green screen 5. Folder / Tag Structure for uploaded content 6. AUTO SAVING PLEASE 7. Right Click Functionality and Options 8. Auto Subtitle Generation needs to work 9. Export file type and quality. I.e. MP3 for podcast, MP4 for youtube, JPG for Video Thumbnail, SRT for Video Captions / Subtitles 10. Video Preview Image on Project Page 11. Folder Structure / Kanban Pipeline view for the video projects or both. 12. Separate view for all exported videos with the ability to preview the exported video without downloading. 13. "Elements" and "Stickers" seem to be the same thing, maybe merge them together? 14. Import videos / files from web link.
So far i have noticed that pixlayers has some pretty good functionality and even some advanced functionality that Flixier has only recently added.
I am giving them 5 stars not because everything is perfect, but rather because this is Appsumo and i don't expect perfect, i expect a deal with early access to promising product.
Judging by how far this product has come in a year, i expect great things in the coming year. Really keen to see how this product evolves and improves. Keep it up guys 🙏
I was so excited when I saw this app and all its features! Unfortunately, after purchasing it, those features don't seem to be available at that time. I was hoping it would be a replacement for Canva Pro in terms of video creation, but it's not.
Here is what I've experienced so far: -Drag & drop video segment previews don't work -Dragging and dropping videos takes a long time and don't automatically line up with the beginning of the video or with the last segment. You have to manually move them. -Video selection is only from Pexels. -There is no automatic saving. It's all manual. -The music selection is incredibly small and poor. I went through their entire library and didn't find one selection that would work with my B2B business. -Need overlay options over videos. They do not exist at this time. -Text wasn't working. -There are very few helps available. (knowledge base). -These issues were when using Chrome. It wouldn't work at all on Safari. -The whole thing is super clunky and not working properly.
I really want this to work well but instead, I'll be returning it for a refund. I wish the producers all the best and hope it will be re-launched after improvements.
I run a couple of video podcasts, and I want to be able to process them from a chromebook-style laptop - not my super-powered computer or high-end laptop. Pixelayer PROMISES to be that solution, if they can only get it to the finish line.
Currently it's not working - trying to make a video that's around 45 minutes and it just spins and buffers. When it finally completed, it was half-length and out of sync. As it stands, it's a no-go, but I'm very willing to be patient in the off chance this works like Flixier but with unlimited exports - and if they get their game together, I'll change my review and add tacos.
PROS: -Unlimited exports! -Processed Quickly (ideally) in the cloud -Huge storage space! -Immediately uploaded to Youtube! -The support knows of the problems and they ARE working on them (like initially you couldn't even delete files)
NEEDS: -To Work (duh - and I think it will) -The ability to fade audio in/out -Transitions -Process audio only -Submit to Youtube (get it to work), Rumble, Bitchute, Vimeo, etc. -Submit audio to Podcast.com/Pod.co, podbean, etc. -Allow us to SHIFT+ENTER in the YT (etc.) descriptions -Zoom the timeline out farther
This product does NOT seem like it was ready to bring to market, but I'm a patient sumo if I THINK it'll do what I want/need it to do, and the team building it seem open to getting it to that point. So I bought the tier-3 option.
I'll wait...
