10 Tacos!
I think this product is very hard for an average person to wrap their head around because it offers a unique set of features. In a nutshell, PIXELIXE is a bare-bones (and I mean bare-bones) alternative to Canva or Crello that allows you to...
1) Whitelabel the editor and incorporate it into your own application; or
2) Automate the creation of 25,000 (or more) social media graphics per month.
Whitelabel
I have no use whatsoever for this feature and I don't understand its draw to be perfectly honest. Canva and Crello are free (to some extent) and offer much more functionality in the actual creation of social media graphics than PIXELIXE. Maybe I'm missing something, and maybe there is an untapped market I don't know about, but I kind of wish resources given to this feature were diverted to improving the actual graphical editing experience and features. I don't expect a Canva or Crello replacement, but the editing features need more, well, features.
API
WOW. Okay, this is the bread and butter. I can create a few templates and then batch process virtually unlimited social media graphics. THAT. IS. AWESOME! Very few tools do this, but presently it does require programming know-how to utilize the API.
Needed improvements to the editor:
- Needs many more shapes
- Needs many more icons
- Needs some non-image backgrounds, such as patterns (but I could just upload my own)
- Needs the ability to set brightness, saturation, etc., on a background image instead of just being limited to pre-selected filters
- Needs more text options such as all caps and text background highlight color
Dream improvements to the editor:
- A feature to create a text box with a specific size and have the font size auto-adjust to fill the text box. Less text = font size increases. More text = font size decreases. The feature would also include a user-customizable limit for a max and min font size. I think the automation API desperately needs a feature such as this and I haven't seen it in any other API tool.
- Some PHP API integration documentation would be nice.
Summary
10 Tacos! I do have a concern about the business model I want to mention. 95% of the population uses Canva/Crello which offers a much better editing experience than PIXELIXE. 5% probably want the white label and API. So can PIXELIXE cater to the 95% without being a copycat? SIMPLE. Create a dead-simple way to batch the automation via a spreadsheet or something along those lines, with output to a dead-simple storage location (ex., dropbox, drive, etc). NO other tool in existence offers the ability for a non-tech inclined person to automate the creation of social media images based on templates. Thomas, focus on solving that and you'll be rich.
