I am an HR / Recruiter professional and I bought Playunt after discovering it via Qpage (another appsumo deal which sadly was not quite ready).

I have tried other tools and especially Willo, which is a similar product. Imo Playhunt is much better.

1. Interface - very average

I think it is Playhunt downside and what got me initially to look for an alternative as Willo. The interface of Playhunt is very basic, and you can't invite team members to manage the account for you.

It does what it needs to do but it is aesthetically pleasing and it feels clunky to use.

2. Features - also average

Playhunt does not have many features appart from ... creating Mock Interviews!! You can add questions which the applicant reads, and that is it.

You can segregate the interviews per jobs, and again... That is it.

Applicants can retake the mock interviews as many times as they want, which can quickly eat up your quota (a lot of them will do it 4 times when you have 4 questions and you can;t stop them for doing so).

Also something that Willo does - you can ask the questions by video yourself. Playhunt does not enable you to do that and to me it is very annoying because of lack of reciprocity with the applicants.

I think this is a feature that should be built asap - being able to video your questions to create reciprocity and boost recruiter brand.

You can't yet connect to your ATS as well, which is annoiying (but they were connected to Qpage so I think it ca be done).

3. Applicant's journey - Very good

Ok I have a been harsh on Playhunt until now but here where it truly shines.

It is SIMPLE for all applicants to do use.

When I tried Willo I had a wall of people asking me about how to record, this didn't work, they had to use this browser etc.

None of that with Playhunt.

They click on the link, and off they go.

It just works and works 100% of the time. Out of over 200 interviews I have had only 1 person whose interview was not recorded.

This to me justifies the 5 tacos because it is real hard to get a tool like this to work on any given browser without any issue.

4. Sharing the interviews - Very good

And the same goes with sharing the recording with clients / colleagues via the share function.

Yes it is not fancy and yes the interface is pretty uggly but IT WORKS perfectly. Again I deal with clients who are not tech centred and none of them has yet asked me help to watch a recording.

It just works - you send the link or better you put it on your ATS and the client clicks on it and they just watch it.

It is super simple, super effective.

So overall - if they can allow us to record questions with a video SOON and allow us to brand the look and feel of the tool for our applicants and our clients this tool will just be amazing.
