App is great. Support is great. Customizing is a nightmare.
I use Wix, and since they allow to only have 5 forms with limited fields, and 2 automations (unless you upgrade to a wix ascend plan) I bought POWR to have as many forms and automations as I need.
Look, it does what it says - an advanced form builder, it can have multi page form, with many input field options and even a form of conditional logic ("If X than Y") which I currently do not use but probably will in future.
With the Zapier integration, all automations can be pretty much handled - although I'd prefer to integrate directly with my email automation platform (Encharge - which I understand they are working on this) Or via Webhook, which is on the roadmap.
This thing is, the designing and customization part is a total nightmare.
Just for the comparison - with Wix forms I can do pretty much everything I want.
Powr forms, on the the other hand, really lacks the designing options and being able to fully customize things. For example:
- No RTL support. Even though Powr's support team were kind enough to sent me a CSS code to handle this, I wonder whether it would apply to the rest of the apps, or i'll have to contact them again every time I'd like to use a new app.
- You can't use your own fonts. And even with the fonts they have (google fonts) it's not fully covered - only the "regular" font version are available. On top of them you can use a "bold" or "italic" effect - but it's not the bold/italic version of that font, just a clucky text effect.
- You can't fully customize the input fields. If you want just an underline instead of a full 360 border, or if you want to add a drop shadow to the field - it's not possible.
- You can't have both field label (text above the field) AND a field text holder (within the field) at the same time. You can only choose one option.
- Field label (they call it "label text") is considered the same as the buttons. So you can't have a different design for both, the form buttons will inherit every style you set for field labels - color, font, size, bold/italic - everything.
- No hover effect on the fields, nor any option to change the design when a field is clicked and when there's an error in the user's input.
- Field's border radius option is only up to 20px
- Even when the above is set to 20px, when it's clicked it becomes 0px
- The app itself is not responsive - it will not center itself according to the height and width inside my Wix site
- Autoresponder is ultra-basic in terms of design options. It also fails to send any test emails if you have placed any personalized element in the email. You'd be better off integrating directly with one of their autoresponder integrations or via Zapier to your preferred autoresponder platform.
These are only a few... Of course, they have the CSS option which can probably solve some of these, but hey - who really got the time to learn CSS just for a form on your site?
Other than that - their support is great, so I hope they will address these issues soon.
