Prismical offers exactly the functionality I was looking for in an easy-to-use meeting transcription and note-taking tool.
It is super accessible since it covers all the big platforms, including mobile - robust and reliable.

What I'm really looking forward to is the roadmap: what's coming in the next few weeks will turn this into a truly comprehensive 2nd brain and knowledge hub with deep AI integration. I have used another product from this dev team before and was very impressed, so I am confident that their vision for the roadmap will be successfully implemented.

What makes it shine:

As a university lecturer and school teacher, I see real potential in Prismical beyond its usual role as a meeting-notes tool. It can become valuable for students, teachers, and researchers, particularly for recording lectures, academic discussions, and seminars, then turning them into structured text that can be reviewed and used later.

What I appreciate about Prismical is its privacy-oriented approach and technical flexibility. The option to transcribe locally with Whisper, rather than relying entirely on the cloud, is especially valuable in a university context. Recordings may contain research discussions, student data, or sensitive information that should not leave the institution. The ability to work without a bot joining the meeting is also a practical and professional advantage, especially in lectures and academic meetings where participants may not want external tools to appear in the session.

I also see clear value in live transcription, speaker identification, and summaries that extract key points, decisions, and action items, as well as MCP support and integration with AI tools. These functions can help a faculty member quickly return to an earlier discussion, prepare an initial meeting summary, or organize voice-recorded research ideas. For students, a recording can become a useful starting point for revision instead of relying on scattered notes or replaying an entire long lecture.

From an educational perspective, however, the current summary templates appear closer to the business-meeting model: decisions, action items, and next steps. This is useful, but it is not enough for lectures. I would love to see dedicated academic and educational templates, including learning objectives, new concepts and terminology, key definitions, examples, questions raised during the lecture, revision questions, suggested references, and points that require clarification. It would also be extremely helpful to generate flashcards, short questions, or a quick quiz directly from a lecture summary.

My most important observation concerns Arabic-language support. It is good that Arabic is available as a transcription language, and I will test this more deeply in real use. However, simply selecting Arabic for transcription is not sufficient to create an appropriate experience for Arabic-speaking users. The application needs native and complete RTL support across the interface, transcripts, summaries, editor, and exports: correct right-aligned Arabic text, a natural reading direction, punctuation appearing in the correct position, proper display when Arabic is mixed with English or German, and clear, comfortable fonts for Arabic text. These are not merely visual refinements; they directly affect whether text can be read, reviewed, and used effectively in education.

I would also encourage the team to test Arabic transcription across a range of dialects, especially Modern Standard Arabic used in lectures, as well as foreign names and academic terminology. It would be very useful if users could select the summary language independently from the recording language. A lecture may be delivered in Arabic while the student or researcher needs a summary in German or English, or the other way around.

Compared with Voicenotes, Prismical appears stronger in privacy, local transcription, and its no-bot approach to meetings—advantages that matter greatly in universities. However, Voicenotes offers quick PDF export. I therefore hope Prismical will develop professional Word and PDF export in print-ready formats, because teachers often need to turn lecture content into worksheets, summaries, or materials that can be shared with students.

One positive point that deserves mention is that the Prismical developer is very open to feedback and professional and easy to communicate with. In my communication with the team, I found a genuine willingness to listen to users’ needs—especially educational and academic needs—and to engage seriously with suggestions. The team does not merely receive feedback; it shows a clear interest in considering it and working on it as part of the product’s development. For me, as an educator, this is very important, because successful educational tools are not built only on strong technical features, but also on a team that understands real-life use cases and responds to them continuously.

My first impression is very positive: Prismical is not just another voice recorder, but a promising project that could become an excellent tool for education and academic research if the team invests in genuinely educational templates, practical academic export options, and native right-to-left Arabic support. I will continue testing it in real teaching contexts, especially in Arabic and German, and I look forward to sharing more detailed feedback with the team.

I tried Prismical for a few meetings and found the whole process surprisingly straightforward.
The transcription was easy to follow, and having the key points and action items organized afterward saved me a lot of manual work.
I also liked that it doesn’t add another bot to the meeting.
There are still a few areas that could use polishing, but overall it feels like a genuinely useful tool rather than just another AI wrapper.

I hace just boght prismical and the firt tests look great. It really works well in spanish and detects all words even speaking really fast.ç

Only but is that app for iphone is still as a test app and I hace not been able to install it, but in general 5 tacos.
