I'm in the process of launching a new podcast and want to manage my own memberships rather than use Patreon or similar. I'd compared a number of Membership plugins and ProfilePress made it into the final group for selection.

When I saw it was an AppSumo deal it was a no brainer to purchase it right away.

After well guided install process there are a lot of options to choose from. I found it's best to stick with the basics while setting up to avoid being overwhelmed. Once I had the core site in place and tested everything was working as expected I started to look at the extra options.

My favorite Addon so far is the email confirmation to ensure newly registered users confirm their email addresses before they can log in. It's another layer of spam protection I appreciate as it can be very frustrating when the bots start hitting a site.

There are also addons for user moderation, social and passwordless logins but I'm keeping it simple while I get everything set up.

Email Marketing integration is currently limited to Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign but I've read comments elsewhere the devs are looking to expand those. I was also happy to read that although there isn't a webhooks setup option the devs are happy to provide custom code snippets on request. This will be useful for adding / removing subscribers from my email marketing platform.

Overall this is a (so far) underrated gem of a deal. I'd encourage anyone thinking of offering any kind of paid content to pick it up before it goes away.
