Powerful project management that's actually easy to use
Project.co is one of the best AppSumo products I have ever bought. It's stable and reliable, has great support, but most important of all, it's easy to use.
In fact I think the whole strength of Project.co is its laser focus on being a usable project management system. It doesn't try to be a CRM, an OPM or any other type of acronym that other systems clamour to tout themselves as. Don't get me wrong, it can flex and become a bare-bones CRM, but it doesn't waste resources on this.
It doesn't try to be an all-in-one platform and focuses squarely on providing a really, really good user experience with Project Management.
I'm finding it a breath of fresh air having used Basecamp, Asana, ClickUp, Notion, Plutio and a load of others that I've mostly forgotten about. All of the above are good in their own way, but Project.co for us is an incredibly good, sane balance between them all. It seems to put UX first and has the cleanest interface. It's completely unburdened by unnecessary tools and features in others that complicate things or get in the way. Any complexity is nicely tucked away for when we need it without demanding any of our mental energy until we need it.
Project.co plays nicely with other systems and other documentation tools. So, as we already use tools in our business such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Figma, Mural, Airtable, Loom amongst others it's great to be able to use the simple embed tools within Project.co and use processes that we already have with it. It can be hooked into via Zapier, so, if you already use a CRM you can find a relatively seamless workflow.
Also, the support is amazing and responsive. I've had plenty of conversations with Matt as we looked to move our projects over to Project.co from other systems. He genuinely seems to care about making Project.co into the best it can be.
There, seems to be a very bright future for Project.co too. My wishlist to make it complete for our needs is to have some kind of centralised reporting or dashboard to view stats etc. at a glance. However, I understand that this is coming in the future and when it does, I bet it'll be simple, clean and easier to use than everything else I've seen.
Just be realistic and don't expect a magic all-in-one tool to run your entire business (hint: it doesn't exist despite what others may say). If you want a powerful and easy-to-use dedicated project management tool I don't think there's much better out there.
