Q: Gmail and POP3

Maybe an idea for a new startupâť“
🤔
There's a loophole that needs to be addressed. As of January 1, 2026, Gmail will no longer download email from external POP3 accounts.

We need a simple solution for the average user that allows them to configure accounts that download email using POP3 and transfer it to Gmail in real time.

Users who used external POP3 accounts in Gmail to download email will now be looking for such a solution more often.

A: Hi Jack,

It's Alex, the founder of ProxiedMail.
Thank you for the suggestion.
Sure, we're reviewing this possibility.

From what I've seen - it's currently not the most popular feature of gmail.
I've just seen the amount of requests in google "Pop3 Gmail" - around 100 requests a month.
Not sure it will cover the additional expenses needed to develop such kind of thing inside of the ProxiedMail.
Anyway, I'm continuously looking into it.

If you have an opposite signs - please let me know :)

Or maybe such functi]onality could also be part of ProxiedMailâť“

🤔
If you had this functionality in November/early December, you'd still have time to advertise it.

In fact, it would be a good idea to even now write about Google's announcement about Gmail on your blog; that would be one article. And the next article could discuss the solution (when it's available) and how to use it.

There are currently about 2 billion Gmail users.
Even if a fraction of users

You could use tech slogans for advertising, like:
ProxiedMail - Keep using external POP3 accounts with Gmail!
