Q: It was for commercial use, why is it now for personal use only? What we have now is not what we signed up for.
Someone asked you if Puppetry was for commercial use too.
- One of your answers was: "srpuppetry, Jul 30, 2025, A: AppSumo includes commercial use."
- Another one was: "srpuppetry, May 15, 2024, A: Hi @apps007, thank you so much for the purchase! The deal corresponds to the Commercial Use tier. You can use ChatGPT within Puppetry at https://www.puppetry.com/studio/chat."
So why do I have a pop-up now in April 2026 saying:
"Thanks for being a Lifetime member! This quick check-in helps keep your account secure and allows us to keep investing back into Puppetry for everyone.
Lifetime plans are for personal use by the original purchaser. Learn more in our Terms of Service."?
We bought it because you confirmed the commercial use. If you want to change the rules, you can also propose to give the money back with % interest too.

Apr 30, 2026A: It is still commercial use, not sure I fully understand. Where do you see it say only personal use? It’s a mistake and we will fix itx

I saw it again this morning in a popup.
Prerequisites: Chrome web browser, Windows 11, lifetime deal credentials for signing in
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the Puppetry website from a private navigation window (as I suppose you're on the tool often from a normal one)
- Sign in using the lifetime deal credentials
- Puppetry.com opens on the studio page
- The popup appears (You cannot skip it)

I got this too as a pop-up when I signed in, and it provided a link to the new Terms of Service (updated in March 2026). Section 7 of TOS has been changed to now say all AppSumo lifetime plans are for personal use only. If this is incorrect, please revise. https://www.puppetry.com/tos#:~:text=resellers%2C%20or%20distributors.-,7.%20LIFETIME%20AND%20PROMOTIONAL%20PLANS,-Lifetime%20and%20promotional
Ah I see, thats a mistake. We will change it. thanks so much for reporting this.
